Francescos Bakery!!!

Francescos Bakery!!!

I am having my reception at the fox hollow. I am awaiting a call back to set up a cake tasting at their house bakery which is Francesco's. I have read some horrible reviews regarding the taste of their cakes and I am really nervous now. I do not like sweets so the cake has been one of the least important details to me but that being said I do not want to make my guests throw up with a horrific cake!!!! I plan on having a VERY simple cake, decorated by the florist to give it a little more uumph. Can you guys give me any feed back regarding your experiences with francesco's...good or bad! Thanks

Re: Francescos Bakery!!!

I did a cake tasting there and it wasn't so bad. There were some flavors that I didn't care for like the carrot cake but overall I wasn't disappointed. Like you the cake wasn't the most important thing on our list. We ended up choosing chocolate cake with the chocolate pudding.

We did out tasting there and the flavors were not bad. We decided to go elsewhere, but I can't complain about their flavors. Their hazelnut and mousse is very good.

We had our tasting there about a month ago. I thought it was pretty good and we actually LOVED the carrot cake!! Lol. Everyones tastes are so different i guess... We ended up going with canoli filling, whipped cream icing and marble sponge. We didn't use one of the cake styles offered by fox hollow, but they allowed us to send them a pic of what we wanted and they'll make it for us. HTH

I loved the cake tasting. My cake came out perfectly and my guests loved it too. Keep callng and set up the appointment. Bring people who like sweets with you to get their opinion (not too many people!!!) HTH!!

FH and I hate their cakes. That said, we're using them anyway. The cake is so unimportant to us that neither of us want to have to pay for a cake. Besides, we're so happy with the quality of the food at our RH that we don't care if people walk away saying that our cake didn't taste good.

I have the biggest sweet tooth ever and I actually liked the cake there. I wish I could go on cake tastings always!!! And you can take some home with you to get your families opinions. We went with chocolate with raspberry filling and vanilla with custard. I'm kinda pissed that I didn't get to actually eat it at the reception though.

O and I brought pics of what I wanted the cake to look like (bc my venue told me only one was included in my package and it was ugly as hell) But when I spoke to Francesco's they gave me what I was looking for for no extra charge.

And for what its worth, I do not like carrot cake & I actually kinda liked it there.

I was just in there 2 weeks ago for a tasting and while the ambiance left something to be desired the cake was fantastic. I hate carrot cake but was absolutely blown away by it and ended up going that route.

I liked the red velvet at the tasting, which is what we picked, however we didnt get to eat a piece at the reception hall so I cant really say what the actual cake tasted like. I would schedule a tasting and see what you think of their cakes

Interesting I see this post now. I was just there this weekend and worked with Lilly. It was a a less than desired experience. She's an idiot. I was there for about an hour and a half. She had too many people booked. I had a cake tasting and did not know what the cakes were because she kept running around to other people, she implied I couldn't afford the cake I wanted, then misqouted me a price. Then undercharged me for the cake I ordered (I'm not too upset about that.) My order receipt did not look like a cake order receipt. Then I was like I'm just going to go somewhere else, she tells me she is the only one who can do a refund, I get there and she can't do it. I ended up dealing with Francesco and we worked it all out, but I let him know this chick had no idea what she is doing. I am giving them a chance but lord help them if my cake looks or tastes like poop.

FH and I went for our cake tasting there and it was great! We both are not into sweets and loved trying all of the different cakes and fillings (with the exception of the pineapple...not fans lol). We had a lot of fun with the tasting.

I was just at Francesco's last night designing our wedding cake with Francesco, himself, and it was great! Both he and Lily are awesome and very friendly!! I can't wait to see the final product!

FYI the canoli is awesome!!!

Let us know how it goes!!

I was just married and had my reception at Wwestbury Manor. I heard some not so good reviews on the cake. I have to see that my cake was really good. I had a marble cake with cannoli cream and chocolate mousse. It was really good! The all chocolate cake to me is very dry and I wasn't a fan of the red velvet.

Good Luck!

Re: Francescos Bakery!!!

Also like someone else said we didn't go with one from our package. I took in a few pictures that I liked from online and worked with Francesco to create one design for the cake. I thought for what all I wanted it I got a reasonable price of only $150.
