Cindy, I don't know the full story, but I'd say you should be entitled to at least a partial refund of your money for the band. That is insanity!! Franklin Wayne is making a bad name for themselves.

Re: Franklin Wayne - Creations

Cindy is on her way to Hawaii in the morning.During the days prior to her wedding when this 'mess' was unfolding I told her that if these people made her cry I was not going to be happy at all. I will just say that she is very upset over their UNPROFESSIONAL behavior. They asked people to dance during the 1st dance- they were NOT supposed to. They were supposed to play a shortened version of If I Could for her Father/Daughter dance then go right into My Girl. They skipped My Girl and played the shortest version of If I Could possible.
And she means that ONLY 3 out of 7 contract players were at her wedding. The lead female singer was in Germany- and they knew she would not be back for a while. No one told her until it was too late for her to do anything about it. The worst is that she has told me for months that this female singer sings her first dance song beautifully and how excited she was to hear it. The new lead singer was good, but that is not the point at all. She was really treated so badly. And then to hear from some of her guests that the BAND was saying nasty things about her to another mean-spirited guest is awful.

Yes, it is all true. I only knew of one band member on my contract not being there and there were a total of four when I got to my wedding. Now I hear people heard them talking about me. A real horrible experience with this vendor. Ladies, when you go to their showcase and you hear 'what you see is what you get' please be cautious. They dont care it is your day!

Cindy, I am so sorry to hear this too.

I am going to call my brother and SIL tonight and find out more about his stituation. I am sure the band bad mouthed him that night because my brother was being rude and obnoxious all night because he was sooo PO'ed at them for the stunt they pulled.

For those that do not know ... my brother used this band a couple weeks ago and the same exact thing happened to him. They too accidentally found out a couple weeks before that their favorite singer was no longer with the band. They had gone to see another showcase to show a friend the band and saw he was not there and asked about it. They too picked their wedding song based on a song they heard him sing at the showcase. Then the day of the wedding my brother, at the cocktail hour, found out that there were many members of the band they booked missing including the lead female singer. (fortunately the GM were able to calm my brother down...my brother is a tough guy and I am surprised how he restrained himself).

Although everyone faved about the band that night (I thought they were great), my brother, SIL and mom all heard the original band and they saw the difference. I am not sure what actions my brother took. I do not think they got a discount either.

bridetobe- because of your post Cindy was able to know about the female singer. Without you she would have gone to her wedding and been shocked to find her not there.
The thing is Cindy was not PO'ed at her wedding at all. Honestly, I was there. She was dancing, smiling the whole time. I don't even remember her talking to the band at all. And NO MATTER what they had NO right to say ONE bad word about her to anyone or each other. These people do not deserve to be a part of her beautiful day.

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation, but thank you so much for posting it. I'm searching for my band right now and will make sure to cross them off the list. Considering the expense of a band, I'm shocked at their unprofessional behavior. I know I won't use them and I will pass along your story to anyone who asks about bands.

Re: Franklin Wayne - Creations

michele- My brother was the same way. Him and his wife danced all night and had a great time. He even got on stage and sang with the band during the final song. No one but the bridal party and immediate family knew the band was different. Even though we all knew we all loved the band.

My brother just obnoxious anytime the band leader approached him. They kept asking for their money and he said he was not going to give it to him until after the wedding and was rude about it. He also thought they rude to keep bothering him for the money (I think once he interrupted him while he was dancing).

I have to say the band did do an excellent job the day of the event but the unprofessional bevavior is not a necessary stress you need the day or even the weeks before your wedding.

Sorry to hear of your situation! All I can say is that there must be some sort of problem with this Creations band....because everyone in my family has used the other Franklin Wayne bands (like timepiece, heart and soul and daybreaks night and I have had nothing but raves!! In fact, one of our neighbors liked the band so much at my isiters wedding, he used them for his company party and still talks about how great they are!!
I am using Heart and Soul, and have been to another wedding of theirs andof Timepiece just since I booked it, which have both been great... but I haven't even heard the Creations band..so maybe its a sudden problem of that one band.

I agree, but I am curious to see how FW handles this situtation. He is their rep so it is a reflection on them. And I hope she gets a lot of her money back. If the 'old' female lead singer has a record deal, NOT having her sing is worth a refund. Plus having the male lead singer blow off the wedding is worth another refund.
I have no idea how he handles his other bands, but this is a mess and unfair to a nice person.

My wedding band....

I did enjoy my wedding. Who doesnt? I decided to not let anything get in the way of my day! Here is what happened: My first dance was supposed to be my husband and myself alone and everyone was asked to join in. My father/daughter dance was supposed to be half If I could and go into My Girl and they never played my girl. Alot of songs onmy play list wasnt played and I didnt have a big play list. They played NO Sinatra and there were some on my play list. My dad wanted to hear YMCA and that was on my play list and they didnt play that. Now I have heard that people overheard them talking about me. I think it was the female singer. I am not sure. When I get home I WILL look into this further as it made some family members VERY upset. As for the 7 member band ( all names on my contract) only 3 members on my contract were there. I had to find out about the female singer on this board a week before my wedding that she wasnt going to be there. They were still BS me that she is coming in the wednesday before my wedding from Germany and then maybe friday and I knew she wasnt going to be there. Then there was another band member that wasnt there and I knew wouldnt make it either. I had to deal with this the week of my wedding when I had SO many other things to deal with. IT WAS BULL----! We were on the phone with the band that whole week with our stumachs turning that we couldnt believe this. I will say this. I have never heard of this happening with their other bands. Franklin Wayne should be on top of this though and notify the bride and groom. I shouldnt of had to get my info from here. I am NOT letting this lie. When I arrive home this will not just be thrown aside. BELIEVE ME! I am in Hawaii and it is 8 in the morning. I just past the computer room and figured I would log on. It is wonderful hear. Just wanted to repond to the posts. Take care!
