Freakin Out!

Hi Ladies,

So we all know how stressful wedding planning and paying can be. Well my company told us to start 'considering' other departments we would like to work for as our HR department may be shrinking in the near future. They said no layoff in the company but it would be beneficial if we explored other options.

So I go to Florida on business this morning and find out that a whole department has been given the option to relocate to the middle of the country or they are out of work. This is their idea of not laying anyone off.

I am freaking out because I know I (HR) am next. We are paying for this our selves and losing my job right now doesnt fit the plan, or payment schedule set forth by our vendors.

Do you ladies know of any HR position out there? Recruiter, generalists? Anything? I am absolutely freaking out!

I'm not sure where you are looking to work. But there is a recruiter/consulting company that i pass alot of business to. They are located in Manhattan and they are called Infinity Consulting Services (don't know their number off hand but you can look them up). They specialize primarily in the financial industry. if you are wiling to go to the city FM me and I can give you more info.
Don't freak out, if you're in HR, you have a lot of companies that you can look at.... I'm in the financial industry so i would only have info there..
Don't worry, if you feel like you may be next then you are making a smart move but thinking about it now. Hang in there and HTH!

I wish I knew of something, but I'm not in that line of work at all. So all I can offer are

Telephonics in Farmingdale is hiring - I don't know about HR positions - try Adecco, Henry Schein, Arrow, and Canon - they're all on the Island. Also Estee Lauder. Stay away from Symbol and CA - they're doing a lot of restructuring. I only know of hiring on LI. HTH!!!

Worst comes to worst, sign on with a headhunter - it's no cost to you and they hook you up!! Good luck!
