freaking out...

I have insurance through my job. I started it June 4th and my husband and i both got our cards and all the info etc. Last week I ahd to take DH to the emergency room and to two different Dr.'s. Not all of a sudden we are getting bills and they are saying he isn't under my insurance! Bu Im paying for it out of my paycheck and they send him info. I left a VM for the benefits department. but if he isn't covered I won't know what to do- we don't ahve the means to pay all the bills in full!!!

I had this problem years ago -- go to your HR immediately and get a letter proving your husband was covered during the time of his illness. Keep a copy for your records. Call the people who are billing you and tell them there's has been a mix-up and you are on it. Ask your HR to call the insurance compnay as well. If he was covered, it will be fine.

Don't you just love HMO's????
