Okay...so im folding laundry and I looked down at my ring and my STONE IS GONE!!! Thank God I looked on the floor right by my feet and found it right away! The FH also got insurance that replaces the stone. STILL!!! the ring is only a few months old, I take very good care of it!! How could this happen so soon...so easily?! What if it happens again?! Ugh... Anyhow when he called the store, they said it can be fixed and cleaned by Friday if he brings it like NOW so knowing how sad ill be not wearing it, the FH is taking his lunch break and picking up my sad ring in a ziplock bag...bringing it back to the store to have it fixed.

So sorry this happened! What kind of stone do you have? I have a round center stone and my FH made sure it had 6 prongs instead of 4. I've heard this happens more easly the less prongs you have. HTH

I've been wearing my ring now for about a year and a half and i constantly touch it to make sure everything is in place. I have 2 small diamonds on each side of the ring and I was told to take a tweezer every once in awhile and push against the stones to make sure they don't jiggle. Plus with my insurance I'm required to have it cleaned/inspected every 6 months.

i would see if they can put it in a diff setting...a few jewelers dh met with said 6 prongs is safer than 4

Definitely look into them putting 6 prongs on it rather than 4. Good luck!

I also think that if you have a high set diamond that it is more likely to become loose. Maybe you can get the diamond set a little lower?

OMG I would have been freaking out also! Luckily u found the diamond and luckily your FH put insurance on the ring. Im afraid of this happening to me, esp my ring has 2 small side stones plus side accents and bcuz I hardly ever take it off! Luckily though my ring came with a lifetime diamond guarantee so if ever 1 of the stones falls out they will replace it at no charge. I just have to go every 6 months to get it inspected which I have no problem with. Hope you get your ring back asap!

OMG I would have freaked!!!...even just for that second it was MIA. So glad you found it and that they can fix it. I need to go get this thing insured pronto.

One of the small stones in my ring fell out after 8 mos. I took it to a jewelry that came highly recommended and the fixed the whole ring. My stones had come form FHs grandmothers ring and the new jeweler said that they jeweler we brought it to to reset it did not fit them well.
