Freaking out about $$$$$$

I was just wondering if any of you are freaking out about money. We will have enough to cover our wedding but now we are not sure how we can afford anything afterwards. My FH and are are losing sleep over it and I was wondering what everyone else is doing. Between the both of us we are financially good but it is when you add up all the bills it doesnt leave you with much at then end...

Sorry for the vent but I am clueless on what to do

I know what you mean!!

that's why we decided to cut back bigtime and have a small wedding with 60 ppl.

between housing costs on LI & gas at almost $3 a gallon, we couldn't justify a big expensive wedding.

On a lighter note since I just made this post love stinks I thought I'd say I like money. I have a little. I keep it in a jar on top of my fridge. I'd like to put more in that jar.

It all works out- I promise! This was my biggest stressor and I wish I hadn't worried so much about since it was all ok in the end. As long as you can cover the wedding, your gifts give you a nice chunk after to help you out. So don't worry

me too!! I'm getting down to the last deposits & stuff, but this seems to be when I need a bulk of it! My parents have helped ALOT, but I am still paying for alot (fiance hasn't chipped in at all because he is paying the mortgage & bills on our house). My credit card is super high too....I'm starting to feel really suffocated with money issues lately. I know it will all be worth it, but I am really banking on making at least 1/2 back...I hope!!!

I think most of us are on the same boat. Don't worry too much...It'll all work out. Just have to be a little more conscious of spending habits.

i am definitely freaking out too! we joke that we won't have all the cash balances the night of the wedding for all our vendors and the night will be a mess lol (real funny, right). i think it will all work out in the end. ~lacey

I agree 10000% We stressed so much over the money, but thank God it all worked out. Yes, we worked 2 jobs for a little bit and cut out on a LOT of thigns, but we had the wedding of our dreams and a fantastic honeymoon! Make a list of how much you'll need (theknot.com's budgeter helped me a lot!) and after you calculate how much money you guys will bring in from here until the wedding, see how much is left after paying the bills. Use that toward the wedding, and should you come up short, you still have time to do something about it.

OK this is sort of related....how is everyone paying for a house!!!!!! after spending 10 of thousands on a wedding were are people getting money for a down payment..I mean I heard my aunt and uncle talking about 3 bedroom houses costing 500k and up!!!! Now that I live out of state and see all these beautiful houses for not so much I am wondering how are people doing it on LI...whats the secret.? Sorry I too am stresing about money lately...

Me and FI stress over money sometimes. But we are doing the most important thing first we are buying our home. I have 9 1/2 months to my wedding so after we close next month I will be able to save up more for the wedding We do side jobs together so that brings in a lot of extra money. Plus i am a wedding coordinator and work full time so that helps out a lot too. It will all work out in the end.

Also keep in mind that i got engaged last year so i booked everything before it go to stressful

the secret is.....have parents who can give you a down payment or win the lotto!

unfortunately i don't have that and neither does FH!

about freaking out about $$$.....scale down your wedding. don't have all the extras. we cut out all the unnecessary things and are saving a lot of money. things such as seafood boats, chocolate fountains and favors are nice, but not necessary

I definitely understand what you are saying! I think about this all the time. Thank god FH is not like me, he is more easy going and just tells me that we will be ok and not to worry about it... but I always do.

Just keep in mind you will get money back in the end.

yea..i hear ya! we just moved into a new place and our rent is outrageous, on top of the wedding...right now, im nervous we wont have enough money to go on a honeymoon !!
