FH called our church today to confirm our ceremony time and ask about pre-cana.
The bad news - It's a small parish so they're not sure if they're going to offer precana this year. (Not a big deal bc we can take it somewhere else, but I wanted to do theirs bc it was short. )
The SUPER bad news - When he asked her to check our time, she said our name was crossed out of their book on our date!!!!! I have no idea why that would be!
Unfortunately the woman who does all the scheduling was off today and only works one day a week, so we have to wait til next Tuesday to get a real answer.
UPDATE: Later this afternoon the woman from the church called FH back... which was actually really nice since it was her day off! She said she doesn't know what happened or why our name was crossed out, but that everything was fine now and not to worry about it.
I'm still a little nervous so I'm sending my payment to the church in tomorrow now even though it's not due until a month before the wedding - and writing my date on it in HUGE print.

I got called two weeks ago on a Saturday by the pre cana people...who had our time at 2:30 for the church...um, hello...it's supposed to be 11:00!!! I didn't have to wait as long but I called on Monday and they had the right time in the book.
It's nuts! I will say a prayer everything is ok!!!!

i just took the RVC pre-cana. Father Peter didn't even mention that we could do it through st. gertrudes.
rita called me on a monday once, so don't be afraid to call them randomly during the week and ask for her!

eeek! That happened to us like 50 times. They couldn't seem to get it straight! But I went there and saw it in the book myself. They still told me it wasn't listed afterwards. They kept going back and forth on it. Some people are soooo not efficient!
I'm sure it will all be ok in the end.
Just a heads up: I was told by FFIL (who is a deacon and marrying us) that pre cana has to be done by 6 months before your wedding.

I can see why you'd be freaking out..but I'm sure it's just a mistake. I can't believe you have to wait that long to find out!! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed!!!

the most important question--- DID YOU GIVE THEM MONEY????? we gave our church $250 to hold the date. we pay the rest before we get married.
