my FH and I decided on this one amazing florist who is more of an artist that just works with flowers. She is a genius.
Anyway, we got to talking and I started freaking out because our invite time is 7pm but the party before ours in the same room leaves at 6pm MAX. Still, how will our florist and her team have enough time to set up 25 centerpieces?!!! plus the ceremony outside, and all the cocktail tables outside. This gap leaves her an hour to set up..even less..because the staff has to clean up from the party before. I dont understand how this will ever work...
Should I push the invite time to 8pm and ceremony to 9pm??
For those of you who had parties at places like this. how does it all work????
Thanks<3

Re: FREAKING OUT ABOUT WCC--HELP!!!!
Well i'm not sure how it works but i saw it on an episode of whose wedding is it anyway. They just KICKED people out of the room to decorate Just have someone direct the other party out so that you can decorate.

Honestly it will work!!! Her and her team will work magic and everything will be perfect. Even if u have guest arrive a few mins early they will pron have them sit and wait and bring them some drinks if everything isnt set up. i wouldnt worry.

As someone who is having her reception in the afternoon and ending at 6:00, if ANYONE tries to kick my guests out ahead of time there is going to be SERIOUS hell to pay. That earlier party is paying for their time just as she is.
I'm sure your florist has lots of experience with this. The centerpieces most likely aren't made on site, just different parts put together.

If your cocktail hour is in a different room (most of the time it is), then that's an extra hour before your guests will be in the reception room ... giving your florist and any other vendors 2 hours to set up.
The hall *will* kick the other guests out of the room, they will make it very obvious that its time for them to leave.

YES, the earlier party is paying for their time just the same ... but they are only paying for the time up until 6:00p.m. -- and not a moment after!
Expect for your guests to be politely and forcefully escorted out of the room if there is an event after yours.

I would absolutely expect my guests to leave when my wedding is over and know they would do that without being asked to.

I think I misread your original post ... I think I missed the part where you said 'ahead of time' Sorry if I came off a little snarky
The thing is, I have been at weddings where the wait staff is cleaning up *around* the guests who just seem to want to hang out and mingle ... and if there's only an hour or two between the 2 affairs that day, I am sure its not gonna fly with the hall!

Re: FREAKING OUT ABOUT WCC--HELP!!!!
DONT WORRY!! I worked at the WCC years ago and I know it seems like there is no time between weddings but trust me this is the norm for these people! While the wedding is going on they set up a curtain in the back of the room and they start setting tables up while the wedding is going on...trust me no one at the current wedding even knows this is oing on. The florist will have lots of time to set up! DONT STRESS its her JOB! ok so the florist can come in early and start to do some little things then at 6 when the wedding is over it litterally takes the WCC team 15mins tops to set the room up! that leaves your forist almost two hours plus whatever time she had behind the cutain. PLUS the florist shoul dhave ALOT of the major work done before they eveb get to the the WCC. I would def make sure you let her know ahead of time so she knows what exactly is goign on so she can make and prior arangements or adjustments, but she will have more then enough time to get it done. as far as the cermony... the florist can set that up while there is another wedding going on... its outside so it wouldnt interfear. Either way dont worry this is what these people do for a living and they have it perfected!

Stop worrying!!
I'm sure your florist and your hall are use to this. I would just give your florist the heads up so she can do what she has to, to prepare. RH's do this ALL the time and they do it faster than you can imagine!

The only thing we would do was clean up whatever empty classes or finished plates.... we would never take people water glass or full drink if they were still sitting there and we would never actually kick anyone out...when the wedding is over most of the people realized it was time to leave we didnt pull the chair out from under them! believe it or not its a very organized process and there are certain times when certain things must be taken off the table...when desert is out there shouldnt be things like salt, peper, dirty plates, or bread dishes...so its easy to clean up at the end of the party bc there is very little left
