FREAKING OUT - How to Stop BC UPDATE - WORSE TODAY

I recently went back on the pill after being off of it for many years. I had bad experiences in the past with Ortho Tri-Cyclen so my gyno just put me on what she said was among the lowest possible doses - Lo-Estrin 24. She warned me that it may cause a decreased sex drive and acne, and even possible hair growth.

I was previously having some acne in one concentrated spot on my face while I was not on the pill. I went to a derm and got duac, retin A, and a glycolic peel. Late last week my skin had almost 100% cleared up.

Now, after about 2 weeks on the lo-estrin, today my face has suddenly broken out in the most bizarre and disgusting way. My face is COVERED in tiny pimples ALL OVER. I have never in all my life had anything like this, and since I put retin A on every night I don't understand how this could be anything else besides the birth control.

How do you stop taking the birth control? I can't even remember...should I finish this pack? Can I just stop mid-pack. There is no way I want to stay on it if it causes this, it's like nothing I've ever seen. I have not yet called my gyno (I will first thing tomorrow) but I actually can't even sleep because I'm so freaked out about it.

UPDATE: I just had to leave work because I am now covered in a rash all over my arms, stomach and chest. I am not taking any other medication, nor have I eaten/drank anything unusual. I called my gyno to find out if the two are possibly connected and she is out of the office. I asked to speak to one of the other gynos and they said they'd call back but they still haven't.

I am honestly freaking out and I think I'm going to have a nervous breakdown. What the hell is wrong with me right now

i just stopped taking the pill one day, didnt wait... youre probably getting a rash because you are stressing.... stop the pill, i had lots of probs too, now i do the old school thing of a diaphragm and the *cough* pull-out.... it's not bad

did you tell them it was an emergency at the gynos office, if not then call again and tell them you think you're having a bad allergic reaction to something your gyno put you on, they'll call you back ALOT quicker.

If not go to the doctor

I told them exactly that - that I was breaking out in a horrible rash and believe it to be in connection with BC that THEY put me on. the receptionist put me on hold, came back and said the dr would call back that was 1.5 hours ago

They said rash is a side effect of loestrin, stop taking it immediately and take benadryl.

If its not gone tomorrow, go to primary care right away.

that is such BS that you had to call again, whats up with receptionists at gyno offices, at mine they are the absolute worst, and I LOVE my gyno but just bc of the receptionists sometimes i wanna stop going lol

hope you feel better and if its the same tomorrow just go straight to a doctor

I know, and even when I called back they first transferred me to an extension that just rang and rang. I had to call back AGAIN and when I did I was obviously about to lose my shitt so they put someone else on who was immediately helpful. I also love my gyno, but I hate getting the feeling that I have to practically scream at a bittch over the phone to get an answer when I have a legit medical problem.

The rash has gone down alot over the past few hours and is almost totally gone. Hopefully tomorrow it will be 100% gone. I'm stopping the pill per their instructions and I'm hoping the rash doesn't come back and that my face clears back up quickly.

I seriously don't know why NO birth control will ever work for me.
