Freaking out just a bit pls help question re: religion . . .

Please help me . . . I am in the initial planning stages for an October 05 wedding. I found my reception site this weekend, but have yet to book it. My fiance is Muslim and I am not and it just hit me . . . when is Ramadan in 2005?? Of course it is approx. 10/5/05 to 11/4/05.

Does anyone know if it is possible to get married during Ramadan? Also, we were planning a day wedding which is probably out of the question now because of fasting if it is even possible for us to get married.

Please help!!! . . . I am freaking out a bit and can't get in touch with my fiance until early tomorrow afternoon b/c of his job.

OK, I just tried to look it up. This year it falls on October 15th and it says that it changes every year and it moves up by 11 days. So if I am figuring this correctly, next year, Ramadan will start on October 4 (2005).
As for getting married during Ramadan, I would definitely check with your FH and his family to see if they would have a problem or be insulted by it. If they don't see a problem than go for it. Aren't muslims aloud to eat after sundown during Ramadan?? If so, then you may have to have an evening affair to accomodate everyone. Have you thought of moving the date up a week to the last week of September 2005 so you won't have any problems?? Well, good luck. I tried my best!!!

Thanks. I know October 1 is an option and then either before that date or November are options. We were planning on a day affair - its $20 more per head to have it in the evening so I am no psyched about that at all.

well i almost signed a day for me and my fh only to find out it falls during the 3 weeks of a jewish holiday and you can't get married...he is jewish and i am not! i was so upset when i had to change the date!!!! but you better check it out before you love a date...
