What can be done if your wedding dress is too small and the seams were already taken out? Lets say it almost fits, but doesn't close by like 3 inches on top...can any undergarments help, or can fabric be added? I am working out and still losing weight (even this week), but I am freaking out about this prospect...can a dress be altered like that? I was under the impression that panels can be added if necessary...has anyone ever had this issue?

I've heard of creating the back into a tie up corset. A privacy panel is added behind the ribbon that ties you in.

I was thinking of that if necessary...it is not off by too much, and since I have been at the gym like crazy, I actually have been shrinking! Hopefully this will be a non-issue!

I would wait until its closer to your wedding in case you lose the wait. If its already been taken out as much as it can be then the only option I can think of is to make it a corset back like the poster above said

I had a similar situation and a seamstress friend said a panel could be put in the side but she was concerned about getting fabric to match. You might want to check with the place you bought your dress if material can be ordered and how long it takes to arrive so you know if that might be a possibility otherwise corset bsck seems like the only solution.

I would wait till the month before and see what happens, I always lose weight in the chest first!

I lost over 50 pounds...nothing from my chest! (although FH is not complaining! )
I actually realized that they can take out the chest area! Woo Hoo...they said since it is sooo close to fitting, the right long line bra might just solve this problem
And I did 60 minutes on the elliptical and strength today...I am really trying hard! Thanks, you are right...I think I am freaking out prematurely...worse comes to worse, I will make it into a corset back!

Thanks! I am going in next Thursday for a fitting...the seamstress seems to think I am freaking about nothing (it is close btw, which is good)
What did they do about your dress?

It actually can be taken out a bit in the bust area, which is where I have the problem...for years, I wanted bigger boobs, and go figure, I am a 34DD 3 months before my wedding!!!

don't freak out! I'm in the same position, I've got a couple of inches at the top of the dress... I have 3 weeks to make it fit or I told my mom that by then either it fits or I'll get it let out more... you'll be fine! you still have a couple of months to lose weight. I'm confident I'll make it, so I'm sure you can too!

Well I lost about 5 lbs and I'm working to lose another couple before 9/2. It zips but it's a little snug now so I'd like some wiggle room so I can eat. RH has wonderful food. I go to Bally's a bit but with wedding stuff it's hard to find time but I'm leaving it as is and suffering tightness if need be. It looks ok but as I say I'd like it looser but I didn't want to start taking it apart for an inch since it was so close to fitting. but that was what she said could be done. It has so much boning in it that even if i lose more weight I think that will still make it uncomfortable. It has a lining in it with built in bra and that has bones in it. The dress itself has another set too. Talk about support.

You have plenty of time to fit into that dress. Don't sweat it honey

I agree, I would wait a while. My dress didn't fit either and I had to delay my fittings as long as possible. By the end it fit after lots of exercise and eating really well. You'll be okay!
