FREAKING OUT!!..HELP

I havent been on this website in awhile..I had to stop posting and change my name because my FSIL and FMIL have been stalking me lol..

My wedding is 2 weeks away and I am freakkking out!!

I am having massive panic attacks about my wedding and I dont know what to do..

Let me start with the previous drama..

My sisters baby needed brain sugery in may..stress

FSIL fought about the bridesmaid dresses and pulled out of the wedding in June..stress

Finding a replacement for FSIL..stress

Bridal shower arguements between my mother who was throwing the party and his family trying to direct how it should go..stress

Finances..Stress

My mother had a nervous breakdown 2 months ago so bad she was hospitalized.. devestating

My dress has been a nightmare.. from all the stress Ive been having I lost 40 pounds in 6 months.. thats one thing im happy about, but my seamsress wasnt impressed. My gown had to be altered from a size 14 to a size 6..I havd been to 3 fittings already and have 2 more to go.. Last fitting I went they tied me in the gown too tight and I had a complete panic attack counldt catch a deep enough breathe because the gown was too tight and they had to untie my gown, bring me water, and fan me..thought I was going to pass out..sooo embarrassing! Well now I have a fitting tomorrow and im freaking out..I dont want to have another panic attack and freak out..plus im a little embarrassed from last time.

Bottom line the past few months have been terrible on top of planning and paying for my wedding.. Now im 2 weeks away and i feel like im falling apart..I feel very overwhelmed.. tring to get everything done..50000 appointments in the next 2 weeks.. a million things to do.

Did anyone else feel this way? and if so how did you stop it??

Thanks for letting me vent!

OKay, first off take a step back and then a deep breath. I am sorry you are going through all of this but freaking out will only compound it. Remember why you are dealing with all of this: You found a great FH and you are going to be his wife in two weeks. The rest doesn't matter.

I think it is natural to be stressed out, that's why we go on the honeymoon, to relax after all of this stress. I think you need to delegate some of your responsibilities to your friends and family, it sounds like you have too much on your plate.

I agree with every word of this!! Lindsey, have you considered working as a psychologist?

I use to have panic attacks all the time after my father passed away, on and off randomly for no reason even years after his death. Had to breath in the whole paper bag thing to catch my breathe. I finally came to conclusion it was essentially mind of matter. I was also told (and it worked very well) that when you feel yourself starting to get into a panic, focus everything on one object in the room and just stare at it. For some reason it works, maybe focusing your brain on something else, who knows. Try it if you feel one coming on, find any object in the room and just focus on it.

I think whenever there is a big event there is always things that go wrong and cause severe amounts of stress. Just breathe and remember that you are going to marry the love of your life.

I am so sorry about all of the added stress. Just keep one thing in mind about the day - it is about two people celebrating their love for each other with your closest friends and family. Things might not go as well as you planned but that is ok - just get past the vows and the rest is a party. Easy said than done but I am speaking from prior experience which was also a living hell.

One great tip I recently read was to plan for you wedding 5 days before the actual day. If it's on Sat, be done with everything by Tues (favors, programs, place cards, errands, everything) Take the last few days to breathe and enjoy - go for a massage, get you nails done, maybe yoga (start that now if you have not already).

The fact of the matter is that you are about to marry the man of your dreams - peoples opinions don't matter and having an even number in the bridal party doesn't either. We planned our wedding from the start with an odd number - I have some cute ideas for how I am handling that if you are interested.

Best of luck and congratulations!

sorry to hear you're going through all this ...

as others have said, the wedding stress is perfectly normal ... but just remember that it's about your marriage, not about the day ... if you're stressed about additional details that have yet to be done, just don't do them ... the guests wont' notice anyhow
