I recently got home and found a postcard on my table (my FH always takes in the mail because i forget haha). It was from Olivier Kpognon photography and on the card, in marker (not computer print) it says 'Congrats Angela! Free engagment shoot'....so my question is...
Anyone use this company (they are located in Norwalk CT) And how free do you really think the shoot is?
My FH and I weren't going to do E-Pics since we kinda think of it as a waste of money. Should i e-mail these people? What should i ask? The company is about 45 min from my house, which is worth the drive if it truely is a free shoot.
I don't recall entering a raffle specific to this company, but i've entered so many online and at the bridal show....i MIGHT have actually won lol.

The shoot is prob free, but if you want any of the proofs, it may cost you... I was offered a GC by another vendor and this was the stipulation... not worth it since your own photog will prob give you a free e-shoot... But you never know, call and ask!

i was gonna write the same thing
call and the details - if you can keep the images. sometimes they will charge you either PER PRINT or for the WHOLE CD
either way - its not FREE - if thats teh case

I didn't even think of those things! I'm gonna email the company and ask them for details, including prices for proofs and the CD!
Also, i'm getting married a while from now, would it be strange to do the E-Pics then? I figure i'll get a photographer a year before the wedding (is that a good time frame?), and if there is a free E-Shoot i can do it then. I really dont wanna pay for an e-shoot, were gonna use personal pics on our STDs and our tablenumbers are gonna be star wars characters! So we dont NEED e-pics.

As far as I can tell, e-pics are just pictures that are taken after you get engaged and before you get married. Lots of people use the images for STDs and things like that... but I have two friends who just took e-pics over the weekend, 1 and 2 months before their weddings. It'd be fine for you to take them now too. Or a year out. Whenever.
If you decide you want one of the popular LIW photographers, you might want to book a bit more than a year before the wedding. It sounds like some of them get booked pretty early.
