Free Honeymoon??

Free Honeymoon??

Has anyone ever been contacted by Simplicity Brides? I got a phone call from them, saying that FH and I were selected for a free honeymoon. We get to choose from a few places to go to and we have to attend a 90 minute cooking class. At the class they will give us all the information for the free HM. They said that we were selected through LIW, so I just wanted to see if anyone else got phone calls for this.

I don't want to sound gullable or anything, but a free HM would be nice.

We couldn't atten the cooking class anyway, but she said she'd call us when they're back in the area again.

They probably want you to purchase their cooking dishes first...... Not sure though!

they said that the reason for the cooking class is to show you the cookware, and then if you want to purchase it, its 40% off

I received a similar call awhile back after attending a bridal show. I told the woman I would go to the cooking thing, but then I googled the company and up came tons of bad things about how they try to guilt you into buying their products, or they sell to you at one price and then bill you for another price, justifying it with small print.

I tried to call and cancel, but I was put on hold for 10 minutes so I hung up. The next day the lady called and basically told me how rude I was to not show up. I told her I tried to call and suddenly she was sweet as pie and tried to reschedule. I said no thanks and she kept trying to talk me into it, so I had to be rude and hung up on her. She called me back 3 times that nite and several more times over the next few weeks.

DON'T Do IT!!!

I got the same phone call and after reading about so many scams out there, even ones involving these cooking classes, I am staying far, far away from it. A free honeymoon would be really nice and all, but I've heard of couples ending up with all these bills for stuff they didn't want or being billed the wrong amount that they agreed upon and then their credit got messed up.

Re: Free Honeymoon??

I got a call from these scam artists this week... Ugh!!! It's disgusting that companies with over 100 complaints are able to stay in business and try to rip people off!!! My FH called and cancelled our appointment once I read the Consumer Affairs reports...

Another gripe I have that's related... I am SICK TO DEATH from all the junk mail and sales calls I've received since booking my wedding... There are so many vultures out there!

yrah, FH and i were bored one day and we went... the cookware was cool but over the top expensive... we got a voucher for 3 night 2 day vacation (you pay air-fare..... FH is a lawyer and said that all the paperwork looks legit, but we're not holding our breath... but we havea year to use it, so we'll see what the 'fees' are, etc. later....maybe it will be reasonable, but we're not banking on it!
