So I thought about a way of saving some money. I am currently searching for freelance musicians and photographers.. has anyone thought about this before or know of anyone who did this? please help. TIA~

Also make sure they have insurance. Sometimes freelancers don't carry the needed insurance. They can get it just for the day but it may increase the price and may not be worth it.
