Re: Freezing W Cake
I was going to, but then I heard that it tastes really bad when you do that. I think what I'd like to do is have the bakery make us the exact cake (only a mini-me size) on our anniversary.

Re: Freezing W Cake
nope.
I could I guess but Im so damned picky I'd probably vaccuum seal it and then deep freeze it to preserve it. Im a little anal about stuff like that.
Still we aren't because our first cake as a married couple was the chocolate mousse cake at Vicent's. We consider that our wedding cake still. So the one we get on our wedding day (our 1st anniversary) is just for the family and friends. No need for us to save it. We'll eat and enjoy. But it will be different (red velvet) so prehaps for my 2nd anniversary I'll make him some from scratch.

Honestly, the box was taking too much space in the freezer and other stuff was starting to smell like icing. I cut the cake into individual slices and wrapped them in tin foil. That way, all we had to defrost was 1 or 2 slices, not the whole thing only to refreeze.
Good luck, Donna 10/5/03

We did! In a little over three weeks we get to finally eat it.

No - our baker will send us a card around the one year mark and we can come in an get a small re-creation for free (by re-creation I'm assuming just the flavors)

Yes & no. We sliced our cake top in to 12 pieces & have been eating a slice on our monthly anniversary. Its been really nice & personally, this first year is just flying by, so its nice to really reflect on our wedding day every month & remember how happy we are to be married.

That is a great idea..MY FH has one of those vaccumm sealer thingies so I am planning on sealing it with that so maybe it wont taste that horrible.
