I am clueless about the bustle on my dress (I should have paid more attention at my fittings and asked questions!) But anyway, my dress has a french bustle with those color-coded ribbons to tie together--will the bridal attendant at the RH be able to help my mother and sister do this (they are clueless as well)? I assume bridal attendants are always helping with this kind of thing.
Just wondering.
Thanks!

Re: French bustle question
WHEN YOU PICK UP YOUR DRESS...YOUR SEAMSTRESS USUALLY WALKS WHOEVER YOU ARE WITH THROUGH THE BUSTLING...
IT'S REALLY EASY BUT I AM SURE THE ATTENDANT WILL HELP..THEY HAVE PROBABLY BUSTLED A MILLION DRESSES..

Re: French bustle question
Honestly, we are just going to wing it on the day of my wedding!!!!!!!!!
I might ask my DOC if she wants to go through it with me once the week before when we meet since I already have the dress in hand, but we might be sewing it together on the day of the wedding before the cocktail hour.
I don't mind!!! I'm kinda excited about never having seen it all the way bustled up.

Re: French bustle question
it's really easy. I've helped a few friends out before. All the ribbons are color coded and you just double knot the same colored ones together. and Voila Done.
The bridal attendant will probably be able to do it for you.

Re: French bustle question
Usually the bridal attendant does this, who I'm sure has seen every possible bustle there is! FOr my cousin's wedding, I paid so much attention at the fititng and when we got to the RH, the girl did it so fast, I didn't even realize it was done!

Re: French bustle question
Its really easy. My MOH didn't even have color coded ones, she had numbered ones...so we just found the corresponding # and double knotted them...she had 25 ties (50 altogether! ) and it was really easy...although I was up under her skirt searching for some of the pairs

Re: French bustle question
Your bridal attendant will know how to do it - she's done hundreds before! But definitely have someone go with you to pick up the dress to learn how to do it.
