french manicure- in or out?

i've never given much thought to how i would get my nails done for the wedding, until recently. i love watching fashion police with joan rivers on E! (guilty pleasure). recently, i've heard a lot of bashing on the show about french manicures, and even more so for french pedicures. are they out of style?!? what kind of mani/pedi are you getting?

I am going to get a french manicure and bright pink on my toes. But then again I am the person that I could care less about what is in or out of style and what I like.

You should get what you like!

ITA! Who cares what is considered in or out?! Get what ever it is that you like.

As for me I am still undecided. But I love color so knowing me I will probably have purple toes and who knows what on my fingers.. lol

I'm glad you posted this. Not sure what I'm doing. I took off my acrylic permanent french about a yr ago and my nails are breaking & brittle. I can't wait for them to grow out to my natural strong nails. I really dont want to put fake nails just for my wedding. Not sure what I'm going to do......

My fiance really likes french but I'm not sure if I like french or I may go for just a regular manicure, Essie ballet slippers. I was going to go with Essie Fuji but its way way way too cotton candy pink on my dark skin.
Gel would suit me the best but I don't know of a good color available in gels, other than french.

My nails are weak and usually break so I may have to put on fake nails for the wedding which sucks. With regular manicures the nail polish usually chips within a day or so. Can't have chipped nails for the wedding! lol

If you like the french manicure you should get it then! I personally love the look of the french manicure, I think it looks so classy! But def you should do whatever you want and whatever will make you happiest

I personally think french manicures are a little dated-and I have always hated how they look on toes. But that is just me.

You should do what you want and what you think looks good on you for your wedding!

Do what you want! I am going to do a neutral color for my fingers and toes.. probably a pale pink or off white/beige (like the base color of a french manicure).

French manicures never go out of style.

I did french for my wedding. It is so classy and totally timeless. Since regular manicures chip I got french gel manicure. It lasted for the honeymoon too.

ITA, I love gel manicures. After having fake nails for so long it took me about 6 months to get my nails strong and the gel manicures keep my nails nice and strong.

Yeah I always hear that but I don't think it really goes out of style, just new trendy things come into styles. I love doing fun things but I'm mostly concerned about taking attention away from the shoes or dress... or having too many things going on and french manicure isn't really my personal style so I'll probably stick to solid colors. I think it would be so cute to match the bridesmaid dresses somehow!

Totally up to you, whatever you like...I did it on my hands, but not my toes.

A friend of mine even did a blue pedicure for her something blue (she had closed-toe shoes for her wedding), it was really fun!

I've always felt that french manicures were classic and could never be out of style. But that's just my opinion! :)

I'm a color girl.... so my nails will be a bright bold color! hehe

I never would think it would go out of style. You do what you want I think it's elegant! I'm doing the light concept for my wedding and I'll prob do some sort of design or something on my ring finger to match the color of the girls dresses.

I love color too. But I love the way French looks :). But my toes will be the color of the girls dresses :)

Find a good place that does Gel manicures! Make sure they are a good at what they do or else you could ruin your nails even more, but the Gel makes your nails hard and helps it grow. I've been getting gel manicures for about 3 months and my nails have never looked better!
