FREQUENT DISNEY VISITORS

Im staying at a Disney resort for the first time (I usually use a timeshare and rent a car). We're trying to decide on renting a car or taking cabs to Universal and SeaWorld. To rent a car for the 2 days it'll cost $150. Has anyone taken a cab off the resort to the other parks? How much was it each way?

I never took a cab, but I do remember the trip to Universal taking a while. I’m sure SeaWorld is much closer. I’m actually going to Disney World this weekend, so I can find out for you if you want!

We're staying at Pop Century.

I've taken cabs & rented a acr. Don't forget you have to pay for parking.

I'm going to Disney in September and staying at Pop Century. I was wondering about cab prices too, since FH says Universal is the happiest place on earth

Personally I would rent a car. With a cab you will almost come out even with renting. Granted you would have to pay for parking, but I think it's worth it. You can come and go as you please and also can stop at a supermarket, or a target to pick up some items that would otherwise be expensive if purchased at Disney or Universal.

In any case have fun, we are going to Universal and Disney next week for our honeymoon, we cant wait and yes we are renting a car for the whole time.

You can also take Mears shuttle. they pick you up at your hotel and bring you to universal or seaworld. The only bad thing is that you have to be picked up at universal at a certain time so you wont get to stay until the park closes.

I've been to disney many times and stayed at pop 2 times, cabs charge a lot more to go to this resort as well as animal kingdom resort because they are the furthest from the parks, and the major entrance.. I def. Suggest mears we used them i think it was like $19 round trip to each place per person if you bought tickets in advance, and you tell them what time you want to be there for, if they won't let you stay till park closing like someone said, tell them you made reservations at a restaurant.. they do tell you what time they will be picking you up and dropping you off, and sometimes you have to go to a lot of resorts to pick up other guests doing the same thing, but if $$ is an issue go the mears route, other wise I'd do a cab. But I went from animal kingdom the pop century and it cost 2 of us $15!! for like a 5 min. ride, they def. take advantage, so ask first!! HTH
