so here we are at the end of the work week and I wanted to have a question that was fairly light-hearted and got us thinking about the reception... so here it is...
Besides the sentimental dances (first dance, father/daughter) and traditional flower/garter tosses, what would you add to your reception and why??
My FH and I are pretty silly people so I don't think we could pull off a choreographed dance - too rehearsed, etc.... but every time i see this... I wish we could add this to our reception...The reason is because I love love love this movie, but, FH thinks it's a 'chick flick' and hasn't seen it...
hahhha that was soooo cute... i would love to do this.. not only bc its my fav show but bc ive always thought it would be sooo much fun.. but i know the church wont let us so we are def gonna be using that song to dance into the RH with.... my dad is sooooo excited about it he loves the idea bc its soo me
this question is great bec now im looking at all the different types of wedding dance surprises hahhha

cali soooo weird we were going to do the beg of the dance we put it in when we I made a dance to the black eye peas song The Time (dirt-bit) but were thinking we dont have to many young people that people will be appalled by our vulgar movements (just kidding) but they probably wont like the song
I love that video, her dress was really cute too. We aren't doing anything different. I wanted to do the thriller dance, but FH doesn't want to do it.

my FH doesnt dance..at all LOL so except for our slow 1st dance.... he isnt gonna do anything
I was gonna surprise him by singing to him, he is always so excited when i sing, but I think I'd be over come with tears cause it my own wedding LOL
Im not throwing my bouquet though, I'm gonna give a speech about how amazing a certain woman is, and then dedicate the flowers to my mommy

I think our 'different' is that we aren't even doing all of those standard dances!

That's so sweet. I love it, might have to steal this idea.

FH and I will be doing our first dance as a fast swing dance...probably not choreographed but hopefully well practiced. And I just posted in the money dance thread but as long as I can convince FH I am hoping to have a swing 'jam' as well to give us a chance to dance with a bunch of our guests. I'm pretty excited for all the dancing

we plan on not doing a garter/bouquet toss, and instead do an anniversary dance, and give the bouquet to the couple whose been married the longest.
And with that being my grandparents, its a cute and special way of honoring them.

I wanted FH and I to do the traditional first dance and then break out into some salsa but he refuses so i think i might do it with my dad.. i'm still debating on whether it's weird or not

We'll do our first dance and then FH is dancing to 'My Wish' by Racsal Flatts with my almost 5 year old daughter. I don't think I'm dancing with my father.
Neither of us are good dancers though he thinks he's got some great umm errr moves. I'm signing us up for 1-2 dance lessons so our first dance ends up looking normal.
Skipping the garter/bouquet toss too I think.

Wow i totally thought i answered this at work and its not here
We are not having the traditional garter/flower toss at our wedding cause we have like no single friends so we are doing an anniversary dance instead where the couple married the longest will get a bottle of wine with the garter wrapped around the top
we are also doing an inlaw dance where i dance with his dad and he dances with my mom
Lastly, i am doing a special dance with my brother, first it is going to be a slow song and im going to have the dj cut it into apachi, jump on it
