We have a lot people coming up from upstate, most of our GM's are coming from up north. I really don't know if they all will be able to make it for a Wednesday RD...... Is it too much to do it on a Thursday??? Then having the wedding Friday night???
Thanks so much......

Re: Friday Night Brides
I have the same issue. Lots of OOT BM/GM. We're doing a really informal RD on Thursday evening. Hopefully around 4-5ish. That way it's all out of the way early.

FH's family is pushing for Thursday...but that's too much for me. I can't deal with that the night before the wedding. We only have one OOT GM and BM.
The Saturday before the wedding is ideal for me.

Re: Friday Night Brides
We are doing ours Thursday...our wedding is 5pm church and 7pm reception Friday, so I don't feel it is too much back to back. Plus, we decided to do a really fun bbq in my sisters backyard - totally low key (burgers and hotdogs) so all the kids can have fun (since we're having an adult only reception). It will be an early evening as a result. People leaving by 9:30pm the latest. Personally I think it is a lot to ask to have a Wed RD - people have to take days off from work etc. so I'm trying to make it as compact as possible.

Re: Friday Night Brides
How does it really differ from a Saturday night wedding, in terms of back to back nights? I think I will just have an informal, early dinner on the Thursday night before the wedding.

Re: Friday Night Brides
I am hoping to do it on Wednesday night. One of my flower girls most likely won't come in until thursday night though. I prefer to just be at home relaxing on Thursday

Re: Friday Night Brides
we do not have any OOT people in our bridal party. we will probally have our rehersal dinner the sunday before our friday night wedding. it will be easier on the weekend since everyone will have to rush after work otherwise.

Re: Friday Night Brides
We had the RD the Thursday night. Half our Bridal party was from OOT and it was more convenient for everyone. That and at least I knew where everyone was that night. It was actually pretty fun and relaxing. By the time your RD is over all you have to do is go to sleep and get ready for your big day.

I plan on doing it on Thursday night as well. Of course, my wedding isn't until 2010 so who knows how that will go but hopefully it will work out

Re: Friday Night Brides
Thursday the night before. We have a lot of OOT ppl so wed would be too much.
A girl I know had hers the weekend before and her ceremony was so unorganized and forced because nobody remembered anything (including them!)

We are having it on Thursday. We have guest coming from Italy ( a whole lot of guests) so it will be a combo rehersal dinner and welcome dinner. I don't think it would be too much at all. My bridal party is thinking of it as a 5 day weekend! Its your wedding; its ok to celebrate all weekend long :)

Re: Friday Night Brides
I want to have mine on Wed. so that i can leave all the last min running around for thursday.
But on the other hand I am staying at a hotel with my BP thursday night so friday a.m. we are all up and ready to get dolled up for pictures.
So maybe thursday is a better idea. I do have a lot of OOT guests comming.
