Curious for opinions on a friday night bridal shower? Anyone ever been to one?

Friday night shower - Long Island Weddings

I've never personally been to one, and I'm sure most women wouldn't mind. I know for me, however, I'd be a little annoyed if I had to give up one of my weekend nights for a shower.

I went to one on a Saturday night & honestly I was annoyed. I wasn't happy spending mt Saturday night at a bridal shower.

Friday night shower - Long Island Weddings

I've never been to one, I think traditionally a shower is supposed to be a brunch/luncheon. I guess you can have it whenever you want.

I don't think I'd mind. I like the fact that it's different, and I really wouldn't think twice about spending a Friday night with the girls.....I spend Friday nights with my girlfriends all the time!

I have never been to one and I would not have a problem. I think it really depends on your guest list. I think the older crowd would be unhappy. You also need to take into account that people work and will either arrive late or leave early.

i agree with everyone... however, I found out (accidently) that my mom planned my shower on a friday night. I don't think I really like the idea, but not quite sure what I ca do about it?! :(

I think you should embrace it cause it sounds like fun. All the important people will be there no matter what and if someone doesn't want to come because that's not how they want to spend their Friday night then you probably don't really want them there anyway!

ETA: I also want to add that even with the older (like our mom's age) guests, I know my mom and her friends would be thrilled to have an excuse for a night out!

Honestly, as long as I am given alcohol and get to participate in shower games when I arrive, I'd go to a Tuesday night shower. I don't think it matters what day or time it is. I don't think there's really anything to be annoyed about. It's 3 hours of one day of one year. No big.

I'm going to be involved in planning my shower and I'm going to have it on a Friday or Saturday night. I'm having more of a cocktail type party rather than a traditional shower. I'm hoping my friends and family will look at it as a fun night out.

I wouldn't worry about it!! I attended one on a Saturday night, and it was honestly a great time! I think as long as you make it fun and more like a 'girls night out' it will be fun. The one I went to was Hawaiian-themed and the ladies all had a blast
