Friday Night Weddings

Friday Night Weddings

I have a meeting with the church tomorrow. I'm worried about the ceremony times for a Friday night wedding.

From your experience, is the church usually flexible with ceremonies on Friday night? I'd love to have a ceremony at 5:30 and I'm just worried that I'll only have my choice of an afternoon mass.

Please let me know what your experience was...thanks for the help.

Well my church for fridays had 3pm and 5pm. For me october gets dark kinda early so they swithed the times to 4pm and 6pm. Most of the time if they dont have any other things for that day they will be pretty flexible.

I'm getting married on a Friday and the church gave us a time of 5pm. I just asked if they could make 4 pm and they said yes. Check they might be able to change the times if you ask. Good Luck

Our's is 3:45 on a Friday! Who ever loves us will be there, those who absolutely can't get out of work for a half day, I'll know who they are and I'll understand of course. So far, EVERYONE has said they'd LOVE to get out for a half day on a friday, especially to go to our fun wedding!!

Re: Friday Night Weddings

My church offered 4:30, 5:00 and 5:30 if I remember corretly. I begged them, however, do to a 4:00. The 4:00 even cut it close with time, since my church was in Bethpage [tecnhically seaford] we took family pix after the ceremony, went to the beach to take pix [on the way to Villa Lombardi's] and we took pix at Villa Lombardi's, and our cocktail was 8. It was a Friday in the middle of rush hour traffic and people heading out East to the Hamptons, so it was cut really close, to be honest.
Unless your RH is right near your church, 5:30 seems late. You will need at least a few hours of pictures after the ceremony unless you want to take pix with ur FH before the ceremony...

ETA- Honesltly, even tho I love my beach pix, I wish I didn't go, and went straight to Villa Lombardi's for pix, because #1-I would have got alot more pix and 2- I would have got to at least go in the back by there Gardens my photographer only made us stay in the front! So in short, uncessary stops waste time! LOL!

Hope that helps!

I had a Friday wedding.
Mass was suppose to be at 4pm but the priest didn't show up until 5pm.
And although my priest was late, all went well.

My church actually asked us what time we would want and they didn't have a problem with 3:30, so just ask.

I had my ceremony at 4:30pm. Like someone else said...I think they are more fexible if it is after a certain time such as 1pm

I didn't have a problem with time. My priest said anytime was fine. We chose 2pm because we're having an hour mass & it is March so it gets dark out mighty fast.

Re: Friday Night Weddings

we are having a 3:30 ceremony and a 7:00 cocktail hour. but we wanted to make sure we had enough time in between both to take pictures and get to the CH to enjoy ourselves. our ceremony is in Saint James and the RH is in Port Jeff so it's not a far drive, but there will probably be traffic on 25A and 347. so we won't have to worry since we made the church a little early.

Re: Friday Night Weddings

i had a friday wedding. the Church had a fixed schedule so my choices were 3pm or 5pm. i went with the 5pm since my CH started at 7:30pm. anything earlier than that on a friday and you'll probably have very few people at the Church.

i am having a friday night wedding....they said i can have the ceremony at any time i wanted....they gave me some times that brides usually had them..

it also depends on if someone has booked them on the same day as you and if you can have it earlier or later than them
