~*~*~* Friday QOTD*~*~*~

Ok, so we all know today is Sept 11th. I cant tell you how tired I am of people talking about how tragic and horrible the day is. It was. But I also think that we can heal :)

Please dont read anything ino that statement . I have the upmost respect for today and the memory of those lost.

So Here is my positive spin on today:

Who inspires you, or who is your hero and why.

Right now its Obama. He is trying to stand up to the Insurance company's that have a strangle hold on the Senate and Congress. Both Democratic and Republican

Obama is saying what NEEDS to be said even if its not what his own party wants to hear.

Im proud that this country has come so far as to judge a man by the content of his charecter than the color of his skin.

Obama inspires me.

Sorry I have to disagree. I think the way people grieve is by talking about it.. and this is something people will probably grieve over for the rest of the life because it was horrible and it was tragic. I do think we can heal but doesn't mean we should try and pretend it didn't happen. I don't mean that as rude just my opinion.

with that being said... My parents inspire me..as cheesy as it sounds. 4 years ago they adopted 3 of my cousins whose father passed away and whose mother was a drug addict. They already had 3 grown up kids and now have 3 new kids.. the youngest being 7. They were ready to retire and enjoy their life and now its like they started all over again. They had to buy a bigger house and move out of the house that they loved. My dad has to work so many more hours there are days that go by that he doesn't even come home. He sleeps at work. They have given up so much to keep the family together and give those kids a life they would never have had and I admire their strength and generosity. Its a struggle everyday.. especially because the 7 year old is a major PITA but shes cute.

Thanks guys.. they are my heroes too.. CPS came in and was taking the kids and was going to split them up into foster homes and my parents had to decide overnight what to do. They took them in and then after a few months decided to adopt them. Its been really hard for all of us but its been really great at the same time. Now I have 2 more brothers and another little sister. So im the oldest of 6 yes I have to babysit alot but its the least I could do to help. I actually was living in the city and moved out east to be closer so I could help my mom.

Thanks for that. I also agree that we should talk about it. I should have been more clear.

For me its not that people are talking 9/11. We *should*.And we should talk about it how each individual neess to. And in talking we can heal and g-d willing, be better. Im just so dejected that its all about pain, loss and tragedy. I would love, in a perfect world, for us to start talking about a day of triumph and coming together, and rising above. Make it positive rather than so sad.

But we will never forget. I salute all those who gave their lives and its amazing how this country has bounced back :)

And with that being said your parents are amazing an inspiration. I see why you are so proud!

Re: ~*~*~* Friday QOTD*~*~*~

I would have to say my grandmother. She's also my godmother, and Im as close to her as my own mother. She let me move in with her during my first year of college and charged me $50 a month rent. I was like WOW, you guys are amazing. It really helped me out because they lived right around the corner from school. SO...I was there for about a year and a half, and 2 weeks after I moved out she handed me an envelope that had every cent I ever gave her towards rent. She saved it for me so I would have something to get me on my feet. I was so suprised and so moved by that. I have amazing grandparents....

They have been married for 63 years. Yea...and they have been through just about everything and still have managed to stay together. 2 years ago my pap was diagnosed with throat cancer and after getting chemotherapy now is left with a hole in his throat and he will never eat solid foods again. He's so skinny, pretty much just skin and bones and he is the most miserable person I know. And with good reason. But he is SO mean to my gram. It breaks my heart because they were always the 'couple in love'...made it through everything smiling and now its come to this. He is 80 and she is 83, and their last days together will be spent miserably....and I just feel for her. He says all the time that he's just waiting to die, and I know that breaks her heart....and mine too. They have the kind of love where....when he goes, she wont be far behind. They couldnt live without one another. Its so sad, and so sweet at the same time.

So THEY inspire me I guess...but more so my gram for having the strength and the love that she does. Shes led one heck of a life and I'll never have anything but love and respect for her
