For those of you getting married on a Friday and having a church ceremony, are you worried about attendance?

Re: Friday Weddings...
In the beginning I was - then I said to myself, if they want to be there they will. Lets just say that my church was packed. We had a 3:30 ceremony. Even the priest commented that we had more people then he has ever seen for a Friday.

I also thought about it in the beginning but if people want to be there they will be there. I have enough to worry about I don't want to think about that too.

We'rehaving a 3:30 ceremony on a Friday . YesI would love for everyone to be there but I know my close family and friends will be there so I'm happy with that. People don't always come to a Saturday reception either so I try not to let it worry me :)

Re: Friday Weddings...
Everyone has told me if they want to come to the ceremony they will come....a saturday wedding doesn't gaurantee people will come to the ceremony. I was also wondering what time would your CH begin for a friday wedding? Ours is 7pm....I thought it was a little late but FH says its perfect.

Re: Friday Weddings...
We had a Friday wedding at 3:30pm. I thought there were a lot of people there. I was soooo excited It is true that the people that matter will be there. Honestly, you are so preoccupied, you don't even realize how many people are there

Our ceremony is going to be at 4pm. The people that really want to be there, will be and those that can't wont. As long as I have the people closest to me there - I don't care that much. As long as those that couldnt be there for the ceremony come to the reception - that's fine with me

Re: Friday Weddings...
Our ceremony is at 4:00. I don't expect anyone to leave work early so I will not get my hopes up on a big turn out. But I know the people that are important to me will be there.

my ceremony is at 7:30 at my reception hall and my ch is from 8-9 then reception is from 9-1. im sure i will get everyone there.
and if they dont come because it is a friday in february that is fine with me as long as my fh and i and the person who is marrying us is going to be there. That is all that matters to me.

Re: Friday Weddings...
I posted this yesterday on another thread:
'sometimes it is said that people won't come to the ceremony if you do it Fri. night. My wedding was on a Sunday afternoon and there were plenty of people who STILL didn't make it to the ceremony (I mean, come on, if you can't make it at 3:30 PM on a Sunday, you didn't really want to make it....) The people who are important will be there and those who use Fri. night as an excuse might not come to the ceremony anyway. Do what works best for you and your FH.'
I will add here that most people did make it to the church and I think the people who are close to you will be sure to make it there. I found it interesting to see who was at the church and who wasn't (including some family members!)

Re: Friday Weddings...
I'm a little worried. But we're getting married the Friday of Labor Day weekend. So I figure alot of people have off or at least leave work early. The thing that really worries me about attendance at the church is that our ceremony is at 5:30pm but our cocktail hour doesn't start until 8:30pm. We did that so we could take picts after the wedding but still make it to the cocktail hour. But who ever shows up, shows up!! I'd love alot of people to come but it will be nice either way.

Nah, I figured the important people will be there, and the rest I'll see at the reception! My ceremony begins at 4pm and the cocktail hour starts at 6:30

I'm having a 5pm ceremony and 730 CH. I'm hoping for a decent crowd. Not too big. I'm already anxious about too many people and being overwhelmed
