I literally ran from putting the kids down for their nap and was DONE for!!
In lighter news, I'm going with my sister and one of my Jr. Bridesmaids (AKA My Lil'BFF) to just get an idea of what I want for BM dresses tomorrow!!

I watched a little bit of the news before but had to turn it off because all of this is making me really sad and upset.
Good luck with the BM dress hunt!!

I was trying to follow at work, now its on in the Background. I'm kinda just over it. I don't want to sound flaky but I hate all the focus on the negative all the time on the news. I hate being reminded every second how horrible the world can be sometimes. After the first day and a half, I've had enough!I hope this ends soon so everyone can take a breath of relief and move on!
sooooooo.....lets talk weddings instead! So much more positive lol Happy Dress shopping :)

This seems quite disrespectful to me. It has been all over the news but to say you've had enough just seems mean. 4 innocent lives were lost, wayyyy too many injured, families & lives have been ruined forever. Just because they killed one and caught the last suspect doesn't mean people can just move on.
Just my personal opinion but this isn't just a light topic to get over.

I am so happy that the parents in that town can put their kids to sleep a little easier tonight!

I can see both sides of this. Yes... four lives were lost and so many were injured and are now amputees and its tragic and sad. HOWEVER... I simply cannot stand every single status update, tweet or hash tag being about this. Social media has seriously made everyone a news reporter and its annoying. I don't need to keep seeing the SAME MAN in a wheelchair with his legs blown off to remember what happened 18 times in a row when I scroll down my newsfeed.
Its just an overkill. It was the same thing with the shooting in CT. Its sad and awful and just terrible... but seeing those kids' faces on my newsfeed every day ALL day seriously made me want to jump off a bridge.
Seeing the face of the little boy who died from the bomb at the marathon kills me. It breaks my heart. I only need to see stuff like that once for it to be burned into my brain forever.
Sometimes waiting for the news isn't so bad.
Can you imagine if facebook or twitter was around for 9/11?
I just think social media makes things worse for the victims and the families of the victims.

I apologize, I should have explained myself better. When people act out in violence it is usually for attention. And that is absolutely what we have given these men. And I don't feel the Media has been running this story all day out of respect for the victims, or for public safety, its sensationalized drama to keep viewers watching. I don't at all think its something to quickly get over, I mean 'move on' as in it as a deeply hurtful situation that I wish I could forget. I don't think the world can be all happy all the time, of course, but I hate the pain and evil seen way too often now a days.
So much gets lost in online postings, I rambled online what probably would have made more sense in person, and especially more sense if you had known the context. I hope I have cleared up my intentions more. I am a newb here and I certainly don't want to upset anyone.

My Feelings exactly! And I unfortunately think the Media thrives off making everyone feel that way. More panic/more pain = more viewers.
Very scary world we live in. Even scarier to Us who are starting out our lives and many soon starting a family.

I don't think this was meant to be disrespectful. It definitely could have been worded better though. But I know what you were saying. After sandy I nearly had a nervous breakdown watching type footage of all the devastation I had to stop watching the news for a few days. After the sandy hook shooting I couldn't even go on facebook because I would cry every time I saw a beautiful little kids face. Today I was off work so off course I was watching all day so it was making me anxious. I was glad when I had to leave ny house because I couldn't stay glued to the tv. Anyway glad they got him and that the people of Boston and it's surrounding areas can now try to move on and heal as best they can.

Have fun tomorrow. It would be nice to get your mind off all these horrible tragedies; it's easy to get caught up in it.
I got into a bad funk today watching this unfold and thinking about all of the evil out there. I am relieved, however, to see how well Boston handled the situation and curious to see what happens next.

I agree with a little bit of everyone. It makes me very sad in a different way than feeling bad for the victims. I feel discouraged about our country and the things that go on in the world that are so senseless. But I also feel a little over it too! I'm torn between should we make a HUGE fuss and stop immigration completely from these countries and totally just profile and give them a hard time with travel and back ground checking them all (it sounds harsh but it only takes 1 person to ruin it for everyone else!) or should we TOTALLY ignore it and give no attention and hope like we were told in school about ignoring bully's that it would have the same affect. I definitely think it needs to be one way or the other though. Super tough or super don't give a !
PS I am in no way shape or form racists against ANYONE in this world BUT I do feel that we can't ignore the source of certain issues and it's sad but people really ruin things for the others around them. It's so hard because you really don't know the difference between a nice person or who has other motives and the sadness our country feels is not right either. Do we continue to not play the game of coming down harshly on 'groups' of people or do we continue to let the spirit of our country die? And this can be taken into consideration on many levels I'm not just speaking on this one event.
