We are having the hardest time picking out a fridge. I know that I do not want a split side by side the entire way down. The problem is do we want the freezer on the top or the bottom? I say bottom b.c you go in the fridge section more often, but DH wants the freezer on the top. I just feel that our kitchen is so modern that a freezer on the top is kinda old school. How do you guys feel?

I can't really help, but you're wise not to get the side by side. I have one in our new house and I don't like it. I would change it, but it's pretty new.
My sister just got a Maytag with the big freezer drawer on the bottom and that's nice. She's of the same opinion as you. A friend just got the side by side with the freezer drawer on the bottom. I'd that one.

really the side by sides are no good? they are the only thing that looks good though with stainless appliances, well most of the fridges in stainless are side by side. his mom has the one with the freezer on the bottom it's sometimes a pain to open and close though, it's nice though.

I love my Sub Zero bottom freezer! i thought I would hate the freezer on the bottom but its so much more practical! The thing also to remember with stainless, is that you cant use magnets! and you have to use a special cleaner! A friend of mine didnt and now there is a streak on her dishwasher!

they have brushed chrome ones now that you can put magnets on and they dont' leave fingerprints!!

Thats the one I thought I wanted b.c I love the top of it but that bottom is a pain in the but!!!! its like one huge bin that you need to bedn over and go through to get anything out of it.
I wish they made that top with a normal door freezer on the bottom that had a shelve. I checked every company and there is no such thing right now.
Anyway we ordered a great one last night, fridge on top. We figured I will be doing most of the food prep and stuff so I got my pick LOL, gee thanks

Well for me the most important part is the fridge so I like it up top so I can see it all. I am short and I have no issues at all. I love it this way. I hate bending over to see whats in my fridge. It works for me very well. My parents have one and at first I thought it was odd, but now I love it.

I have a bottom freezer and love it. Yea, the freezer isnt as convienent as it was when on top, but thats the whole point b/c it makes the fride soooo much easier to reach in, see and clean!

I have a side by side in my house and we decided we needed another fridge - I COULDNT WAIT to get a tradition one - Freezer on top.... We purchased a whirlpool from Plessers and I LOVE IT....

we have the freezer on the bottom and i like it ALOT better- most of the stuff used is from the fridge so its nice not having to bend down all the time to look/grab things

Am I the only one here that actually uses the Freezer more than the Fridge? I eat a ton of frozen food... and i can't imagine having the freezer on the bottom.
I like my side by side fridge myself. Don't have a long a-- door that opens WAY out. Prefer the much smaller side by side doors.

Like ANY freezer to see stuff you sometimes have to move other items! But I dont have a problem! Ours has 2 drawers which and an ice maker so its easy access all around
