Friends bit by the wedding bug

Did anyone else notice this - friends could be absolutely fine and one day poof! they get bit by the wedding bug and then they are totally bitter about anything related to a wedding, rings, etc. Certain people I cannot mention the word wedding around and if I do happen to - they are in the worst mood the rest of the day ...

yeah - unfortunately most of my friends are like that - so bitter that their man hasn't proposed that they can't be happy for me - it's ridiculous.

I know what you mean! But when it happens to my friends I just try to remember when that was me. I used to get so mad when my friends were all getting engaged and having babies and it wasn't happening to me.

ha-my single friends are like that-but it seems like everyone I know that was dating someone as soon as they heard FI had bought my ring everyone got engaged!!!!

Two of my friends are bugging me. Ine tells me all the time why are you looking to book vendors now you have time. She doesn't understand I am getting married summer and holiday weekend! She was married dead of the winter...
Second friend says all you talk about is the wedding.....which then makes me uncomfortable to speak to her. she is in the wedding so i thought i was being nice keeping her up to date. (she is going thru a divorce, but dating our best man) who knows.

On the flip side, I know I am wedding obsessed. I could talk about my wedding, or any wedding for that matter, all day long. If my friends seem to be annoyed, I have to ask myself if it's that they are bitter or if I am talking about the wedding non-stop. Sometimes it's a little of both.

It's hard because all I do is talk about wedding stuff. It's the biggest thing going on in my life right now. A true friend would be there for you. I think my problem is that I expect too much from people. Honestly, a friend is someone who cares about you and what is going on in your life. If you don't care about a major event in my life, then you don't need to be a part of it. That's how I feel. It could explain why I only have two friends :) Quality in my book beats quantity!

Yes, me too...I kept getting so sad when it wasn't us and was trying to be happy for other people!! I knew at the time it was my issue but it was still hard, ahhh no more of that!

my boss is like this. She gets very jealous if I mention 'my husband'.

Also I had a bunch of people that were friends with both me & DH for many years all of a sudden not speak to us anymore.....people get weird
