friends getting divorced!?!?! semi-long rant

So my friend 'Christine' got married three and a half years ago. She married the second guy she ever dated (the first being a very shady guy we knew in high school. That relatonship lasted maybe three months). Christine and her husband had had problems for awhile, but never talked about them or really ever resolved anything. When I last saw her, she mentioned that her husband wanted to go for marriage counseling. She said she didn't believe in it, but would consider it anyway.

Then last night, a different friend of ours calls me and tells me Christine's husband left her... BECAUSE SHE WAS HAVING AN AFFAIR!! FOR OVER A YEAR!! None of us knew. Apparently Chris met this guy at work, and a colleague of hers told Chris's husband. Chris had no intention of telling him otherwise.

Who is this woman? The girl I knew used to say that she only wanted to get married once. She never would've hurt anyone. She would talk to her friends and not lie to their faces. Her wedding was so beautiful, she was so happy then.... what happened??

Wow, I also know of a simialr story with in my fh family. YIKES.
It stinks when you are 'surprised' or disappointed with someone you thought you knew!

Yea unfortunately I know far too many couples that shouldn't be married or are in the process of divorcing.

Most of them married right out of high school and didn't date much. I know that may be the case for some of the brides on here (just dated one person, young, etc) but also you need to take into consideration many people are self centered and selfish and more deadly materialistic. If you are young and very centered your relationship works. When your older and still hold onto selfishness then you fall into the doom to die catagory. All these elements along with the fact she never grew into a knowing of her own self is the problem.

I just have to avoid a old friend of mine. He is currently flat out cheating on his wife constantly. HE is selfish - his wife just turns her head enables him to cheat and become a drunk. Thank god he doesn't want kids! He only wants her attention to him and when he tours on the road ... his many gf's do what he wishes and never blink a eye to the fact he is married. I couldn't take it and tried to talk to his wife with out flat out telling her and she seems to except his lifestyle. I don't and left the situtaion. FH told him he should just kill himself since he is a waste of life and is dirt for doing what he is doing to his wife. He also said to him since your wife allows it she deserves the std's she probably has and feels no pitty on both of them.

Rough statement but true!

I am not saying avoid your friend only because she was unhappy in her relationship and felt cheating was her excuss to get out. I really think she was just excited on the whole lets get married thing and did it.

I as a future bride look at the story and think its not completely sad but informed. If you don't know who you are then how do you expect to survive in a relationship over a span of time?

Enough of my rant - gym time!

Awwww... this actually sound like my cousin. The family is so diapointed in her. Now she is getting married again to the man she was seeing when she was married. The family refuses to go to her wedding. It is really sad.
