Friend's new BF

So one of my BMs got a new boyfriend and he was really great the first time I met him. I still think he's a good guy and he's really smart but he's posting up all this political stuff on Facebook and it's not even just harmless stuff, it's the kind of forceful 'everyone will go out and vote the way I dd and see what the country really wants' kind of stuff. Ummmm we all don't agree with you!?!
I just feel bad because it's a bummer if he ever brings it all up in person... many of us do not agree with him and I don't want ANOTHER friend falling off the radar because of a guy who can't just get along!!

I just hide people's statuses on facebook if they bother me. You can still be friends with him on FB - his status updates just wont come up on your news feed. I know a few people like that. If it ever comes up in person - jump right in there and say something like 'We should probably avoid that topic tonight. Things can get tense when we get started on politics. Lets just have fun.' I do this a lot, especially because I have my own strong political views and I don't like when people try to argue with me over them. I haven't met a person yet that kept trying to talk politics. If he does ... I'd 'go to the bathroom.'

I agree. My cousin actually posts on fb ALL DAY about politics. I just blocked him from my fb feed along with some other annoying people who whine and complain about stupid things. now my fb is peaceful

I don't mind disagreement but I hate when people say things assuming everyone agrees.
