I'm thinking of when Joey got licensed to marry Monica and Chandler and I'm thinking it would be nice to have a friend do this for us rather than paying someone I don't know. Does anyone know anyone who's done this? Do you know how much work and money it actually is to be licensed?
it's not expensive, you can do it online for free even. i became ordained to perform a wedding, through the universal life church. you can look it up and do it online. just double check the laws wherever you are, in nyc you have to be registered but i don't think you do for li. they sell certificates and stuff that you really don't need but that are cool to have!!
DH's sister got ordained online to marry us...unfortunately when we went for our marriage license we found out that our town did not accept the place she got ordained at...so we had her perform the majority of the ceremony...and our town clerk came and officiated the part necessary to make it all legal..it actually worked out really well....i would check with your marriage license office first before your friend gets ordained.
