Friends reaction.. UPDATED

So my bridesmaid dress for a wedding I am in in Oct. came in and is waaaaay too small. I really feel it is the bridal stores screw up, since I gave them the exact measurements of my wedding dress.

I am so upset about this obviously, I called the bride and basically she was like that sucks, but now its your problem?

SO to deal with this, I have spent $95 changing my flight and who knows how much the place will end up charging me for alterations. I guess I just expected the bride to be a little more angry at the bridal shop.

Ahh..to be on the other side... Keeps it in perspective for me as a bride.

Update:
Thanks girls! I went to the bridal shop and it turns out they manufactore sent a dress 3 sizes too small and mistagged it.

They are shipping me a new dress. The bride is not a little more worried now that she believe that they dress does not fit!

that's extremely annoying!

can you call the dress store yourself rather than paying for all those alterations?

good luck!

Re: Friends reaction..

I'm so sorry this happened to you. You obviously have your measurements correct, so I wonder what happened.

One of my bridesmaids ordered her dress (took measurements herself and called them in) and she says she can't even zip the dress that came in. I don't know whose fault it is (her measurements or the store's error), but I do have to say that I'm appreciative that she did not come to me complaining about it. Instead she is trying to deal with it on her own, talking to local seamstresses and calling the store herself.

However, if she HAD called me to tell me about this (another bridesmaid told me just the other day), I would not have told her it's 'her problem', but I would have suggested doing just what she's doing..... I feel like as the bride, I'd just be the middleman, so it would only make sense that she call herself.

At the beginning, when my girls were ordering their dresses, a few kept complaining to me and telling me that they didn't think the shop took their measurements correctly, maybe they switched measurements with another's measurements, why do I have to order extra length, i've never had to do that before, etc...... and I was really frustrated. I didn't have the girls measurements, nor did I have the chart that Bill Levkoff's sizes are based on... I did ask the dress shop when I was in there and able to look at the chart, but I wasn't happy that the girls were complaining to me about...

Sorry again. Hopefully you can have it altered so that it will fit. One of the seamstresses told my friend that all BM dresses come with an extra inch on each side so maybe it can be let out???

Good luck

I'm sorry you are dealing with this.

While I do think it will be best for you to contact the store directly, I do understand your feeling miffed that your friend isn't even slightly annoyed at the store's possible mistake. At least express some sympathy or something.

I don't know... I feel like if I were the bride and there were some sort of situation with my friend's BM dress I would call the store and at least talk to someone about what happened. It's her wedding she should care if her BMs are having an issue with something they are doing for her wedding.

I can understand both views.

A BM called me and told me that her dress came in too small and instead of calling the store first she called me. What am I going to do? In the end I had to take care of it for her.

I see how you just kinda wanted to give her the heads up, mine wanted me to take care of it for her. And I did.
