frozen pipes- what do i do??

our master bathroom sink has frozen pipes. i can't seem to find where the pipes originate (i think its in the garage) & i'm afraid it will burst if i don't do something quick!

help!

turn on the facuet and leave it ton - this way if there is air in the pipe it will not cause it to burst. you can also expose the pipes more (ie - leaving the doors to a cabinet underneath open to circulate warmer air)

if you really want, you can also use a hairdryer to heat up the pipe and see if it works!

good luck and hope this helps!

thanks.

but too late.

it just burst. damn it.

luckily the pipe is in the garage (which is why it froze in the first place) so the damage is minimal.

That stinks! Home Depot sells these heated sleeves you can slip around the pipes. I would put them on both in the garage where it originates and where they enter your house.

Good Luck!

sorry to hear! Hope you had little damage! It's been happening all around our neighborhood too.
