FRUSTRATED!!!
I use my laptop for everything... RIGHT before I went on vacation it totally died. Luckily, my waranty was still good (only for about two weeks tho- if it had to die it died at the right time!) so we brought it into find out the problem and have it fixed. I couldn't get the info off of it since it was dead, and my dad told them if they had to send it anywhere, to make sure they let us know first so we could have them download the data.
Well, needless to say we were TOLD the computer was sent back to Sony, without taking the data off... fine. I don't think its a hard drive problem anyway. So I call last week and they tell me they haven't sent it anywhere, we need to go sign something. Well hello, call us and tell us then! So my dad called back and they told him no, it WAS sent out, there is nothing to sign.
So today my dad goes to the store and asks when its going to be done. It's been there since AUGUST 2nd. So they take a half hour to find a key to the cabinet, open it up and there is my computer. Nobody knew if it had been sent out or returned so they turn it on... still dead. Turns out it's been sitting in there for the last few weeks and hasn't been sent anywhere yet.
Needless to say after reaming them out, my dad got the data copied off of it for free and they will be rushing it once it finally gets to Sony... but still- could be another two weeks!!!
Sorry- just had to vent... Take precautions when bringing your computer for fixing back to Westbury Best Buy!
