Hey girls! I must have faxed about 27 resumes to different schools for a teaching job for september and i haven't gotten a phone call yet! I mean i know it is still early but it is just so frustrating!!!!!

I know it must be fustrating!!! A lot of people I know have been through that.... but don't worry, there will be a light at the end of the tunnel.... any school would be lucky to have you as a teacher for them!!!!

I'm a Catholic school teacher (4 years) looking for a public school job..I too have mailed many, many resumes w/ not one phone call for an interview! It is extremely frustrating i keep hearing wait until August, so we'll see?? good luck to you!!

Ugh, Im in the same boat!! I have been on a couple interviews and 1 demo but no one will hire me because I have no experience compared to the other people who applied. ive been subbing since Feb...and I made sure I picked 3 districts that were very different and would help me stand out....doesnt matter. Grrrr!!
How the hell are you supposed to get experience if no one will give you a chance???

keep sending resumes...drop them off in person...keep trying...dont be bashful at all...I know people in the same position and they just keep on trucking along...dont give up!

I'm a teacher too and I KNOW how frustrating it is looking for a job!!! just keep sending those resumes!!! This is the time the schools are finding out whos coming back and whos not.... Give the schools a call next week to make sure they got your resume. its so annoying! GOOD LUCK!

Anthony'sgirl: Its still early sweetie! Don't worry. I'm a teacher too... I teach High School.. You will most likely hear something in August, what happens is people sign there contract and get a better offer and choose not to come back. Have you looked into New York Teaching Fellows?

thank you girls for all the wonderful advice. I keep hearing that it's still early and deep down i know it is but i can't help just wanting a phone call for an interview. I'm gonna give them until monday and then call the schools to see if they got my resumes. i will just keep sending them out. On a better note, FH has an interview tomorrow for a gym teacher in an elementary school so hopefully he will get it let'e keep our fingers crossed!
