Frustrated Vent!

Frustrated Vent!

My middle name is my mother's maiden name (Megale). Why it can't be something normal is beyond me. So the invitation said 'Mr. & Mrs. Alex G... request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter, Jessica Megale to... etc.'

So now I'm getting No responses with checks (woohoo!!) that are made out to Jessica Megale (what?!?!) . Apparently people are assuming that M. is my last name instead of G. How am I supposed to cash a check that doesn't have my last name on it? And my middle name isn't on my license or anything either. UGHHHH.

This problem would have been avoided if my middle name were Jane - then people would have understood the situation. So now what am I supposed to do!!!!

Sorry so long - just frustrated b/c I've gotten more than a couple checks like this and I'm not close enough with these people to ask them to send new ones (and if I were they would know my last name). AWKWARD.

Just write for deposit only on the back and account number and deposit it in the atm. They'll cash it and you won't have to argue with a teller. For some reason even before we got engaged I got got checks with his last name. Just make sure they aren't over $9999 and you will be fine.

Wow - and there was no problem with depositing them?? That's a GREAT IDEA!!!

I used to deposit FHs checks into my checking account, he'd sign them and give them to me.. just tell the teller that its your middle name. no one ever said anything to me.

the same exact thing happened to me b/c my mom's maiden name is my middle name as well...i haven't gotten the checks yet however, everyone was all confused when they got my invite....why don't people get this stuff? really?!!!

Just write your last name on the end in your best forgery possible... Then it'll say 'Jessica Megale Gxxxxxx'

yea if u do the deposit through the atm they cash things, even when checks are post dated.

I agree with Gina - forge in your last name at the end of the 'To' line.

Best thing to do is sign the name as is on the check and then below that sign your name correctly and include your account number. I've done this before - no problems.
