Frustration/vent

Frustration/vent

Ok... so since FH and I are separated by several countries we get to Skype once a week on Sunday night for an hour.

I haven't really gotten into planning b/c internet is bad here and I feel like i have so much time, plus he isn't here with me.

Sat night I spent 3 hours trying to figure out my biggest frustration, transportation! We are getting married a half hour away from the RH and I've been super worried about how the wedding party will get everywhere, and then how all his OOT ppl will get around. My solution was having the wedding party stay at a hotel near the church the night before then go to the other hotel with everyone else, AND get a shuttle for the OOT'ers.

When I got to my Sunday night skype call I was super excited and started telling him about it, instead of being interested or happy all his first comments were negative... don't you think checking 12 people out of a hotel will take longer? If you're only saving 20 minutes then i guess if it takes people less than 20 minutes to check out of the hotel it makes sense...

I was so mad! We would end up saving a TON more time and I really think its a good idea, but nothing to commit to yet, it was just an idea. It totally ruined the rest of the convo and i ended up crying over the computer. He apologized and said he was interested and we made up, but now I'm all bummed and don't want to go back to planning anything....

don't worry about the transportation just yet if it's stressing you out ... you still have time to figure that stuff out

But, why start there? You have so much time to worry about transportation. I just got home from seeing Chateau Briand and my sister says 'well, we have to figure out how people are going to get over here'. I'm like really? Why? If you're invited to a wedding, you either go or don't go.

Don't get me wrong, I totally plan to provide a shuttle from hotel to RH for my OOTers, but I'm definitely not going to stress about it or stress FH about it. For one, he could care less!

Don't get frustrated this early in the game. There's way too much fun in wedding planning! Enjoy your SKYPE calls, they only come once a week!

Yeah checkout wasn't even a concern of mine, I figured everything would be settled the night before and we would just go out the door. I'm having a day wedding, so the RH is booked from 12-5, back that up for transit time, and the ceremony itself and we're getting into early in the morning, I didn't want to be getting my hair done at 5am so any time I can save is important!

Yeah it is frustrating to do it long distance, I would love to do invites, but our internet connection doesn't allow for pictures b/c they take too long to download so I'm at a loss, hah.

I totally understand why you would be upset. There's nothing worse than being excited to share your ideas with someone you love and having a bucket of cold water dumped on your head in the form of negative comments. Maybe you could share wedding ideas with him via email during the week and save your calls for just catching up. Either way, remember why you're planning the wedding in the first place - you're in love!

I agree with the idea that if transportation is on your mind and it's one of the few things you can work on now, go for it. Every little thing you can check off your list now will help you feel better about the situation as a whole.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the support!

I think I will give him things via email that way he can look into it and ask questions after he's thought about it.

For now though, I think I'll take a few weeks off from planning. I have an online class starting tomorrow night so I think i'll focus on that.
