FSIL Drama

FSIL Drama

My FH and I have been dealing with his brother's wife a month after we annouced our engagement which has been two years and nine months. This is so fustrating.

We had orginally decided to have my two cousins as flower girls and my friends son as a ring bearer. But FH wanted to include some of his family. Okay, no problem. So, two of his nephews have never been in a wedding and his one niece has not been in the wedding. His two other nieces have been in so many weddings as flower girls. So we thought that FSIL his SIL would understand. Wrong. She got so upset about this. So, we went on and off about them two being Jr. Bridesmaids which was not right on our behalf. FH, finally decided to make them Jr. Bridesmaids.
Also child that was born in August 2005 is now a flower girl. But, we are so fustrated because His brother and wife tend to keep on saying scarcastic stuff to us. Like I control FH and FH has been thoughtless to his nieces. Which is totally untrue. FH and I have been to events for them. Yes there are times that we are unable to attend some events but guess who is paying for our wedding? We are. Sorry, we can not be there every single day. I also don't appericiate being called a p-whipper. I am so embarrassed to even say the word and so surprised that someone would call me that. Sorry, I just really needed to vent. Hopefully someone will throw some nice fairy dust on her to be nice.

Wow. Sounds like one pushy and self involved SIL. She needs to know that the world does NOT revolve around her and that you and FH have a life that does not always include her. You CANNOT attend every event in her children's lives or include said children in every aspect of your lives (i.e having them in your bridal party) nor should you be expected to.

And you know what's funny? People that are so demanding like your FSIL are the first ones who can't be bothered to attend YOUR events (whatever they may be). Trust me, I have an aunt like that. Her kids must be involved in everything and everyone must attend HER children's events but my cousin just had a baby shower last month and said aunt didn't even show up or send a present.

Don't let FSIL get to you and don't let her be any more involved in your wedding than she already is. This is YOUR day, not hers.

Thank you so much. You are so right about them not coming to our events. They did not come to FH's birthday last year. They did not come to my birthday. She came to FH's birthday this year with her girls. FH's brother was working that is why he was not their. They did not come to our engagement party which we are not upset about because they just had the baby at that time. That was totally understandable. I will be surprised if they attend the bridal shower which I have no clue about. I will be careful then too. You never know what can happen. Thank you again.
