Awwh........I am sorry! It's nice that you try and maybe some day she will come around. And it's ok.....because some times I will be over and FH's brother will hardly say a word to me. FH says it's b/c he's shy. UM...hello.....I'm his brother's fiance, and he's known me for 4 years now....what the hell is there to be shy about???

that is no fun for you. I kind feel the same way about my FSIL... The other day she called and FH I were sitting in the parking lot of Target just chatting before we went in. She goes 'what are you two doing.' Fh goes well we are sitting the car huffing white out and we thought we were going try paint thinner next!' Ha Ha funny. She goes 'i don't get it. what are you doing. Huh? I 'm confused. are you really huffing?????' Fh is the most straight edge guy you have ever met! She doesn't get sarcasm or anything funny. Oh well I guess we both have to just keep trying to be nice and friendly forever. Could it be a jealosy thing? Is she super duper closer to Fh and feels you are stealing him away?

ditto that...his brother is such a mute around me. his mom says it's cause he's afraid of girls!!!!! i'm so afraid of this guy making the speech at the wedding!!! he's the best man!

no, i don't think there is any jealousy there with FH. she really isn't close to him, or anyone else in his family for that matter... because she has NO personality!!!

I don't have the best relationship with my FSIL either.. I would really like to be close to her-- I just feel like she does not want to be.. I would love to do some bonding activites-- but, I just feel like it is something she would not be into.. Plus- her and her bf are bartenders so we have opposite schedules- so making plans is never easy.
I want to think it will be better once we really are family. My SIL (bro's wife)lives on the other side of the country, so our relationship has distance.. and I always wanted a sister-- I do know that these relationships get easier as you get older.. We (me and FSIL) have a 4 year age difference and at this point- it is a large gap..
But, she is not a dud! Maybe you can get this girl drunk or something and get her to loosen up.. that always breaks the ice.

L-i am so bad! i photocopied a whole bunch of 'responsibilities' of the best man, printed things from the knot...i printed out tips on how to make a good speech and even gave him 100 great quotes!!!!!!!!!!!
i highlighted and i wrote notes on all of it!!!!! he's a nice guy (i guess wouldn't really know) but i have my moh as back up lol...just in case

I saw that they had it there-- then I looked the drink up, or I saw it somewhere. It called 'something blue'.. anyway-- yup, wine and vodka-- serve that to make your wedding guests sick.

I have the same situation with my FH's brother's wife. We are just very different people. I always end up offending her in some way. So I just stopped trying and I must say its getting better between us. I think I was just trying to hard. It also helps that I give free counseling to her son!
