FSIL Vent (long)

FSIL Vent (long)

So FSIL did not show up at the shower, and I was very upset by this, she is in the BP.

So she called me at 6:30 on the day of my shower, which started at 3:00 and ended at 7:00 to say she wa sorry that she couldn't come, it was a busy weekend, she was taking a state exam for her paralegal thing.

So she calls today and asks my FH and I to come over so she can talk to us. We go and she says sorry i couldn't come, and then proceeds to blame my mom and BP for why she couldn't come. IMO it wasn't an apology. She then says that maybe it would be better if she didn't go to the wedding at all. Hello there is no in between!!

Then she proceeds to yell at me about several things, and says that she felt she had to say yes to be in the BP becasue FH and I wqould be uspet if she said no, and then says that we should ahve told her in advance what would be required of her, becasue she didn't have to do anything for the other brother's wedding when she was in the BP. (FH's brother lives in NC, so what could she do.)

I said I don't think it is too much to ask that someone attends the shower, RD and the wedding, that is not too much.

She said she couldn't go to the RD, only the rehersal becasue her boyfriend's daughter's sweet sixteen was that night, so she had to go to that. First of all the boyfirend is not really this kids dad!!!!

She then proceeds to storm out, tell us to have a nice life, and that she won't be coming to the wedding. After blaming me for other things, like I should be having the RD the night before not two nights before the wedding.

I want her out, but I don't think FH wants her out.

Is it just me or does it seem like she doesn't want ot be in it, but wants me to kick her out.

She also said to us, that our wedding is not a priority.

I'm soooo sorry

This is a terrible thing for you to be dealing with. She sounds like a very inconsiderate, self centered woman who is better off not being in your party.

OMG, I'm so sorry to hear this. What a nut job. I think that you should just not count on her being in the BP and tell your FH that it's not worth the headache. If it's not a 'priority' then fine, goodbye to her.

THat is what I think, and my firedns think that she is trying to get me to be the bad guy and kick her out.

I am getting marriedn in 11 weeks, I need to know if she is in or out, and make arrangements.

Also I had to leave a great friedn out to fit her worthless butt in the BP.

Re: FSIL Vent (long)

I have had many problems with her in the past, but I thought that putting her in the BP would be a step in the right direction, and I asked FH about this, and his parents really appreciated it. I try so hard, and all I do is get spitted on.

I am so sick of it!!!

Re: FSIL Vent (long)

unfortunately, sometimes we like to give people the benefit of the doubt just because they are family. You tried, and honestly, you do not need this 11 weeks before your wedding. It's just a very unfortunate situation, and all the bad karma she is causing will only come back to her. You don't need someone like that standing up for you on your day anyway.

Re: FSIL Vent (long)

My whole thing is that I am scared that my FH won't ask her to step down.

Why don't you tell her that if she feels like she can't handle the responsibilty, then she can step down.

Leave it in HER hands so she can't blame you for ditching her!

Re: FSIL Vent (long)

I am going to talk to FH about it tonight, everyone that I have spoken to about it, agrees that she doesn't want to be in it, and is looking for a way out.

My brother even said that she said no one reason why she wants to be in it!!

I definitly don't think she deserves the right to stand up for us at the wedding.

OMG I'm so sorry!! Definitely talk to your FH - I don't think she should have the priviledge and the honor of being in your BP!!

Also, if you do decide to boot her out, I would call up the one you had to leave out and see if you can get her in, even if it is a little last minute, I am sure she will understand your reasons! Good luck!

Re: FSIL Vent (long)

At least you found out before the wedding that she feels this way. I would not want her in the BP either. I am so sorry. One of my BP did not come to the shower, I was dissappointed. A different BP booked her flight before asking me what time was the RD and her flight was arriving 8pm at JFK the RD was at 7pm in Patchogue. So needless to say I understand your pain. She obvously can't think of anyone, but herself. I think it's rude!

you said

She then proceeds to storm out, tell us to have a nice life, and that she won't be coming to the wedding.

so she already took herself out of the bridal party by saying she wont attend your wedding, so you dont have to worry about kicking her out..

OMG, she is sooo rude.
I would just tell her c-ya and let her go. If this is what she wants then so be it.
She will regret it one day and it will be her loss not yours.

Michelle!!!

I'm sorry she is acting this way...(aren't you happy that you'll be living next door to her? )

I don't think you should ask her to leave...let her or Vin decide....I know its hard not to boot her yourself, but since she is family...she is there for a long time...

She is behaving poorly and hopefully she has enough balls to say that she should step down but attend the wedding...but sometimes jealousy is ugly...

That's horrible! You should kick her butt to the curb! She doesn't deserve the honor of being in your bp.

Re: FSIL Vent (long)

Well we went over on Sunday and told her that obviously she isn't happy about being int eh BP and that we would love her to attend, but if she uncomfortable being in the party, then it would be better if she just comes as a gues. She agreed and everything is okay now.

She then apologized and told me the ral reason why she didn't come to the shower, becasue her mom and aunt didn't go and was uncomfortable. Whcih was whta I told my FH the real reason why she didn't come.
