FULL Review of Day 2 dress shopping

Original post by nifheim

Well i only had one appointment today but since I am starting to get comfty I took on two more appointments for a total of THREE!!! NUTS RIGHT???

Hahhaah

Anyway this morn. appointment was at Lillete's in Baldwin which i have to say the lady I worked with Carol WAS A DOLL!!! I can see why people can feel pushed because by noon that place was like a zoo and she had to multi task and we felt bad for her. BUT she gave me as much attention and time needed to reflect on the dresses I tried on. Also got to sneak a picture! I tried on all Maggies and a handful of other designer dresses. I really like this two piece that i tried on that had bead work on top and bottom but I didn't include the pic because it wasn't my top pic.

I fell in love with the cassablanca that i have a pic hanging on my wall from the day i had gotten engaged. I didn't get the cry moment or like oh i need to stop now this is it but i really loved it. NOW when you see me in the pic I look like a mess in it and the dress has no justice served to it. I am fat and the dress was like four sizes small on me so it wasn't fitting correctly. As stated before i am getting a jacket made for my arms so that is covered.

Now the dress fitted in skinny model

So needless to say we are pleased we are just checking how much it is now with the special jacket getting made, inclu alterations and the final price so we know what we are dealing with.

NEXT appointment which we moved from a saturday to a 1:15 afternoon appointment was at Lidia's Bridal in Copiague. Julita was great and funny and I LOVE her. I wanted to hug her she made me feel so good. Today so far I been batting a thousand with service! I tried on all Maggies again since I am focused on lace and bead work. This is my second favorite and my backup to the cassablanca i just wanted it in diamond white and not white of course with a small balero jacket 3/4 length. NO PROBS with pics there. The salon was amazing and pretty and roomy. GO THERE I DEMAND YOU TOO!!!

Me happy as can be with my hair yet again a mess!

On a pro model

Renate's in Lindy was a diff. experience. You can walk around and just pick dresses you want out of the racks yourself where I haven't been able to do that yet. I tried on even more maggies some that were poofy and mostly all lace again. I tried on the dress that everyone likes again but in my diamond white I liked it but didn't love it like the cassblanca. NO PICS ALLOWED!!! No ifs ands or butts about it and no chance to sneak one.

After three more dresses this was my last one and it came with a shawl and I LOVED IT!!!! SO i told my mom if the jacket, bussle, alterations come out too much on the cassa dress I am more then happy to get this maggie since everything will be under 1k and that makes me happy since I don't want my mom to pay too much. So its a toss up and possibly I need to go back to both places and try the dresses on again to figure it out. Then again there is still tomorrow's dress shopping!

This is the maggie i really like now above the other one that everyone likes and just slightly less then the cassablanca.

WOW today I can say I may have my dress!!!

wow you look beautiful in the second dress - you DO NOT need a jacket with it - your arms are FINE and you look better in that dress than the model looks in it- honestly. Please please please send me price of dress and designer in FM.

Re: FULL Review of Day 2 dress shopping

All dresses except for the first one were maggies. I am really leaning to the maggie that i saw at renates the last picture of my post. I did like the Lidia's maggie with the ribbon and a bit of a sparkle on top and bottom but i wasn't in love with that little sparkle there. Its an amazing dress though!

I hope these reviews helped and helped girls out who have some beef on them and show them that they can try on a-lines that have a tightish fit and they look good - except they dont fit a 100% on you with the sample so you need imagination.

Jen I absolutely LOVE tht 1st dress....can u tell me what it retails for....if u don't want to post it can u FM me....I love the dress i picked but is SOOOOOOO so I'm trying to spread other options around....thanks...good luck tonight!!!

The first one the cassablanca is around $987 but the alterations make it jump to be about $1,200 because of the lace and the hem. OUCHIE then the jacket might be another $200-$500 thats why i think its too much.

Re: FULL Review of Day 2 dress shopping

decisions...decisions....

I really do like them both! I think I like the first one better. It looks great on you even though it was 2 sizes too small as you say. I seriously don't think you need a jacket or sleeves for your arms. If you feel more comfortablel...then go for it. But I think you look great without it.

FYI...I'm one of those brutally honest kinda chicks...no sugar coating from me...
