Anyone else a student? What program are you in? Is wedding planning affecting your schoolwork? Are you doing most of the planning or is FH, your mom, a wedding planner, etc helping you out?

I'm a part time MBA student at NYU. It's funny you ask this because i've been DYING this whole week. It's really work that's affecting my schoolwork, and maybe LIW b/c i'll come on here to take a break.
I was not into wedding planning much until i started school - now it's like the wedding stuff is a break from all the work/school stress and i'm dying to do silly things i never cared about before! I'm just glad I got the major stuff (my dress, RH, dj, photog) over with before school started.

I am in my Masters program for Early Childhood/Special Ed. So I am getting a dual degree need more credits which = more classes and work. And with working full time and having to do observations hours for some of my courses I feel so stressed with actual homework that I need to get done. I feel like I don't get alot of the reading I should do done.
But LIW is definitely a way to escape my stress for a few. However, I havent been on here too much adn if I am it is while at work inbetween doing things. So I don't feel this site distracts me too much. But I actually feel it is the opposite I am neglecting planning my wedding because of school

I am in law school fulltime, and many days I find myself connected to the net rather than paying attention to class. -I am getting a little obsessive, plus I have no outside help because I can't afford it and I am a little bit of a control freak, actually I am a total control freak....
Good luck planning ladies.

I work full time and go to school part time. I also have a part time job, but that doesn't really affect me so much because I barely work there. The only thing it's really affected in terms of wedding planning is not being available to meet with vendors on certain days. Otherwise, I'm fine.

I work full-time and go to school full time for Hospitality Management. I'm not really doing too much wedding-planning related right now. I am actually taking all online classes so if I do have to make appts I have certain days that I don't work. I got a lot done over the summer and I graduate in December! In January I can focus mostly on the wedding!!! I just come on LI Weddings because its nice to have a break and find out what other girls are up to. I'm trying really hard to keep my 3.85.

I just graduated law school. Luckily I didn't find this site until my last semester, or I would have been in big trouble

I'm in a maters program for elementary education and i am going a little nuts!!!! I am sooo excited about the wedding but this is my last year at school and i need to focus as well!! I have been a little distracted ever since the engagement but we did things SUPER EARLY for this reason. I knew these last few months were going to be insane so we got a lot of things out of the way almost a year ago already. I am sooo thankful we did it that way!!!

It only is affecting my school work because I let it. It's kind of my release, when school gets really stressful I'll do some wedding planning or DIY's. I haven't been failing anything though so I guess it's not too bad

OMG that's SO amazing. tell him congrats and that's awesome - it's so hard to get into harvard's b-school. I know at least 3 former co-workers who did not get in. I never would have even tried - though I'm going part-time and work is paying, hence NYU. NYU is a great part time program - it's no Harvard though! I bet he has a great job lined up - I'm totally psyched for him!! And for you too!

Aww, thats so nice of you - thanks! He works really hard. I am envious of his work ethic! But i know how hard B-school kids work - regardless of the school! And the payoff is going to be great for you!!! Just think of that! Eye on the prize!!!

That's what FH says - i hope it's a good payoff! I'm working my a** off since school started and am an intolerable biotch and I just started this fall I'm really lucky my job pays for it 100% - lot of the other students don't get full reimbursement.

I have 2 part-time jobs, an internship, and a thesis-writing class at NYU...and it's SO much more fun / interesting / stressful to plan the wedding than to do any of the other stuff.
And the addictiveness of LIW doesn't help, but it is helpful to get opinions and advice.

Thankfully no. I am taking 2 Grad classes, teaching full-time and coaching a team...all while wedding planning, grading, doing lesson plans AND renovating a house! Things get hectic at times, but it keeps me moving, in shape, motivated and time is flying because I'm so busy!
