You ladies know that I've been trying to get FH to go get his effing passport for the past month. Well today he had off so I *once again* printed all the info for him and left it out on the coffee table. He was supposed to go get fitted for his tux and then get his passport.
Well he didn't even want to get fitted for his tux- he b!tched and moaned until his father had to basically drag his *** out of bed. He made excuses, he used ME as an excuse, saying I didn't leave the paperwork out even though it was also on the coffee table, right next to the passport stuff. So he finally got out of bed, got fitted, went home got the paperwork for the passport (why he left it at home is BEYOND me!) and then went to the passport agency. After waiting for a 1/2 hour he called me to say he was leaving the passport place because it was 'too hot' and there were too many people there.
So I followed through on the only threat I could think of- I told his mother, who I work with. We had been keeping her in the dark because I knew she'd react badly and I didn't want her to hassle him. Also, he's a big boy (28 years old!) and he shouldn't need his mother to tell him what to do. So now he called me at work screaming and cursing telling me that he 'hopes I'm happy' that I 'ruined everyone's Easter weekend' and that he would not be attending the BBQ at his aunt's house or dinner at my mother's house and that he'd be staying at a friend's house tonight. I mean, obviously it's my fault that he took his passport out to a bar to use as an ID and LOST it. It's also my fault that I printed ALL the info out for him and all but actually went and applied for him (which I would've done if I could've) and it's my fault that he's such a child that he couldn't be bothered to stand in line for an hour. Honestly, I wanna #@*%&$# murder him right now.
And while I was arguing with him on the phone, my boss came by and I got in trouble! Just to make it that much better!!
I'm sorry this is so long and I don't usually vent on here but I'm blind with rage right now. I think I should also add that this cruise in 6 weeks isn't just our honeymoon but a family cruise with about 20 of FH's relatives from Ireland joining us as well as his family and a few of his friends. I guess I'll go and have a good time with them and leave FH at home!

Re: FUMING!
i understand exactly where you're coming from - FH and I had a fight about him being too disorganized (and not getting anything important done) just yesterday.
where did your FH go to do his passport? when i did mine a few years ago, i went to the post office and was done in 15 minutes.

Re: FUMING!
He needs to grow up.
But the fact that people persist him to get out of bed and do things, and print out all of the info he needs and stuff like that isn't going to help him grow up at all.
Personally, I'd leave it where it is. Let him scramble and expedite his passport two weeks before.

What is wrong with these men lately??? I agree with Kris- let him run around at the last minute to get it and pay the extra fee to overnight it!!

Thanks ladies! At least I know I'm not crazy. I wish I had thought and maybe said something on Monday instead of today so that I didn't ruin anyone's Easter, but it's a joke! How hard is it to stand in line?! Annoying, sure, but c'mon! He's got NOTHING else to do today.
You ladies are absolutely right, I'm an enabler. My nickname is 'Momma'. I'm always the one taking care of people, so it's in my nature. I just need to step back and let him learn the hard way, but it's just going to stress me as much and I don't wanna be stressed anymore than I already am.
I think it was so busy today because this is the main hub in LIC. I chose that location because it had photo onsite just in case he needed that. Also, people are probably getting ready for summer vacations so there were a lot of people.
I'm still gonna go to his family's BBQ, hopefully he has enough respect for THEM to go to it tomorrow.

Re: FUMING!
Unfortunately, it isn't something someone can do for him bc he's feeling lazy. My friend got hers expedited after she realized it expired a wk and half before one of our trips. Let him figure it out last minute.
I would be so annoyed...ughhhh

Re: FUMING!
Yeah, definitely not your fault. If I were you, I wouldn't even have printed the paperwork for him. I would have just sent him a link on e-mail... screw that...
aww.. (they're all like that... d ont' TAKE IT!!!!) it only gets worse if you let it continue...
you are totally in the right and don't let him make you feel bad that HE messed up and couldn't take the 'heat'...........
(btw, my FH is one of FOUR boys and they are all momma's boys (the oldest and the youngest are the worst, though.... by FAR!!!)

Seriously. Men are like children.
If there is any ladies on here that have a FH who isn't the biggest putz in the world getting anything done that's not about him and him alone... I salute you and may steal him from you.
Needless to say I feel your pain.

Does he NOT get that no passport= no honeymoon???
