I know a great Tapas Bar in SoHo. It's called n (with the ~ over it.) It's 33 Crosby Street. It a dark, loungy type place with good tapas & even better drinks! Not really a 'restaurant', but still worth stopping in!
Noche in Times Square is also fun!!! It's a restaurant with live entertainment, beautiful setting, and it turns into a nightclub after dinner is over!!!

I'm a huge fan of Ruby Foo's in Times Square. The food is incredible as are the drinks. I've been there over 10 times--I'm addicted I think Whiskey Blue, a bar/club, is only a few blocks away.

Tony D'Napolis is a great restaurant - it's family style italian that is so delish. The one on 2nd Avenue and 80-something street has a side room but I don't know any requirements for reserving that. I have been there with a group of 8 and we were in the regular dining room.
There's tons of bars in the area - right now we like going to Session 73 on first & 73rd.

The Cowgirl Hall of Fame is fun. They have great margaritas. Tortialla Flats in the flatiron district is suppose to be fun.

I like La Mela or Puglia's in Little Italy for Bachelorettes... or Lips- they do the drag show. you should check out www.newyork.citysearch.com- i think you can do a search for restaurants good for groups.

Boca Chica is really fun and in a trendy area. Great food, not too pricey, and STRONG drinks!
I took my bridal party there - they all loved it.

For my bachelorette we went to L'Orange Blue. It is a great resteraunt for a bachelorette, so much fun!! The waiters are so cool and there is lots of music and dancing. At one point I was standing on my chair dancing. The resteraunt is listed as 'African', I had never had African before, but it was so yummy. There was lots to eat for everyone, even my picky bridesmaids. I had Paella, which isn't really African, but there is quite a variety of food. Totally recommend it - it was a blast!!!

Tortilla Flats is soo much fun, but not very big, so make sure you make a reservation so that they can arrange a big table for you.
There's this great bar on the Lower East Side called Verlaine. They do vietnamese food (really cheap) and have the best drinks!!! Nearby is the Essex on Essex and Rivington, which is fun too.
