FSIL bday is at the end of the month and i need to find a good restaurant for us to go to. she has a 2 year old, so it needs to be a restaurant that is lively (nothing too quiet, so the baby is not really noticeable if she makes noise).
she mentioned sushi, but i am open for other suggestions
oh, and no fondue-type places b/c of diets.

i was just going to say this place. fh loves to go there
they have been there too many times. its good. but looking for a new place to try :-/
anything else? its been a hard year, so i want something extra special (even tho i have no clue)
Kotobuki in Babylon is AMAZING!! It's not really fun, just a normal sushi place but the food is phenomenal!

Kumo in Plainview has very good sushi and it's small, but def family oriented. It's always very busy and loud in there.

I second Kumo. FH and I go there a lot. They have good sushi, lots of choices, and there are usually children there and it can get noisy.

i know its a little far but aji 53 in bay shore is AWESOME!!!!!! and theres a bunch of bars right there if you want to go out afterwards! http://www.aji53.com/
and peninsula is right there too and they have a full sushi menu AND full chinese menu. http://www.peninsulafs.com/

Ruby Sushi in Plainview is good and they just redid it. It's not huge, but has enough tables. I went once and it was loud, so no worries! The sushi pizza app is yummy!
