Funny Chat with Hubby

Funny Chat with Hubby

So we're talking last night about whether or not I had made any changes with my employer about marriage. Now, he gets an extra week off for honeymoon, so he was checking if we had the same at work. I said, no we don't. And then discussion turned to babies/parenting etc.
He also gets a week off after 'my' labor and I said: 'I think I have 12 wks off'.

So then he goes 'Unpaid, right'

And me: ' I think its all paid, but at worst, it may be 6 wks paid, and 6 unpaid'

Him: 'Well, if its 12 weeks paid, then what are you waiting for... You'll have a whole 3 months off your job. Think how cool it would be. You can do a bunch of stuff around the house and rest a little... I can give you a little 'gift' tonight '

I just thought it was so funny, how he wanted us to have a baby simply b/c I had 3 month off LOL. As if having a baby doesn't change the rest of your life.

And yes, ladies, he was joking, but the whole convesation was so funny.

Alina, the part I find most humorous is when he said 'You can do a bunch of stuff around the house and rest a little' Men are so silly sometimes! As if you'd be able to 'get a bunch of stuff done around the house' when you have a NEWBORN! Men think having a baby is a vacation - LOL!

Thanks for a good laugh!

dont know whether to laugh at hubby comments....or be ticked off..(if it was me)
life changes BIG TIME after having a baby...
have him ask his buddies who are going thru the same thing..maybe he needs a little light shed onthe subject ???

sorry if I am coming across harsh...maybe its just me!

Phyl, sorry if it came accross not correctly...

Hubby understands the demands of childhood (a friend of his has a one and half year old).

But at the time of discussing time off in a lighthearted way, he thought of baby making from only one point of view (i.e. extra time off). And that's why the comment was funny...

We both know that we're not quite ready for babies yet, but he was just excited about time off and said 'what are we waiting for'
