she went to this wedding over ther summer, and the bride and groom were RIDICULOUSLY rich! lol The wedding was fabulous, total platinum wedding!
My cousin doesnt have a lot of money - but the groom was one of her best friends so she obviously went to the wedding! Well she decided to beef up the gift a bit, and gave a little extra $$$
When they got into the reception, there was a note on each plate that said 'Thank you for your generous gift, we will be donating all gifts to a charity'
Now thats great and all but OMG - can you imagine.... not keeping the wedding gifts! That is a very thoughtful gesture and all - but wow... it must feel great to have money!

Wow! It's nice that they can do that... but I kind of feel like I would be offended. Here I am trying to gift you a gift for your new life together and right away you'll just give it away like it means nothing?

I was actually thinking that- like I would take my check back! If I had to scrounge to put together a nice sum, and they just donate it? I don't know...

i dont mean to sound terrible or anything but it kinda makes you feel a good knowing you will get 'a little something' from family & friends ya know? LOL
To just be able to be like um yea - the $40K goes to the Ronald McDOnald house or whatever lol

OMG.....I wish we were able to do that, but unfortunately we are hoping that the gifts we get will pay off the debt of throwing the wedding!
