Funny Parent Stories.....(long)

My parents have always been a little bizarre, but since my engagement, whoa!

My father freaked out over the guest list. And insisted he needed to see a seating chart...complete with guests before we added anyone to the guest list. This is also before we even ordered the invitations. My mother and I calmly tried to explain that we cannot do seating before we get any responses.

Since FH and family are from England...their traditions are very different. the MOB and MOG do not consult on the color/style of their dress. Since they are two completely different people, I wasn't worried that they would pick the same color/style. They didn't. My mom is very traditional and offered to send FMIL a book on etiquette. FH and I nipped that one in the bud. The last thing we want to do is to offend his family.

I love them, though. They are my parents.

Pleae share any strange and unusual parent tales.

That is funny
When I got engaged my mom re-painted the living and her bedroom. She said we are going to take the pictures there and the walls were white. Therefore, she didn't want me to blend into the wall. So she painted the walls a color. It happen to come out very nice. Parents think and do the weirdest things.

My mom redid the entire first floor of the house. She put in a NEW floor, repainted, etc. So I can take pictures in a nice fresh house. The catch is, I'm leaving the house in shorts and getting totally ready on site of the wedding!!

my parents have ben 'talking' about redoing the house for a year. Now it is two months away and they are freaking out. My parents are blaming each other for not being able to pick the color of the new front door, fencing...etc. It is so funny. Thank goodness I don't live there anymore.
