FUNNY SCHOOL STORY WITH A FREAKY ENDING!

ok so as just about all of you know im in nursing school and well for the next 2 weeks i have clinical! any way i was at my clinical site today minding my own business about to go into the room of the patient i was taking care of and this sweet little old man who happens to be a hospital volunteer was collecting all of the breakfast trays kindly askes me to go into that room and get the tray from the lady behind the curtain. so i say sure cuz if the curtain is closed that usually means someones in there getting them cleaned up or they are on a bed pan or something along those lines...

so me being stupid i go in like nothins wrong and open the curtain and find a full tray? so im like humm whats going on.. look at the bed and im like OH MY GOD the blanket is up over her head so i being a nieve student decided i should prob do the right thing and take it down... well before i got the change the nurse comes in and is like NO! shes DEAD!!! im like WHAT!!! holy CR@P!!!!! i was so freaked out i felt like i was going to puke! it was so scary! kinda funny! but ijust wasnt expecting that!

with my luck if i would have found her earlier my teacher would have volunteered me to do post mortum care which is after a person passes to get them ready. and i just dont know if i would have been able to handle that!

Just thought i would share my story!

oh man! I give people in your line of work a lot of credit.. that's crazy.

i felt so bad for her althought i did open the window for her! i dont know if theres any religious meaning behind it but i just felt like if i didnt her spirit would just linger in the room! i wanted to let her out! (i guess that kinda sounds funny)

Awwwwwwwe, thats actually really sweet you thought that. I wonder if the older man collecting the trays knew she had passed when he asked you to go get it?
