We are going on Sunday to look at furniture. We want to hit some of the places on Rte 110, and in Carle Place, I think it's Voice Rd. Can anyone recomend any places they got good prices from and had good service with? Or, any places that you were not happy with? We want to get some suggestions, and not just walk into a whole bunch of places blind. We are looking for a master bedroom set, a complete dining room, an entertainment center and coffee and end tables. Any suggestions would be great !

Re: Furniture - any recomendations??
We got our living room set at Seigermans on 110 and we are very happy with it. Some of their lines has 10 year guarantees.
We had an awful experience with Levitz' furniture and customer service and usually advise people to stay clear of them.
Drexel Heritage has a BR set we were drooling over for about a year but it was out of our price range. Not crazy (about $4000 for bed, 2 night tables, dresser w/mirror & tall chest), just more then we were prepared to spend at the time.
We ended up getting a BR set at Seamans and we hare happy with it. We did the free financing for a year and we had delivery within 2 weeks.
Good luck & have fun!!!!

Re: Furniture - any recomendations??
Depending on what quality/price furniture you are looking for you should check out Oak Furniture on Sunrise in Copiague. It's my Dad's place. He makes custom furniture so you can have exactly what you want. It's not cheap but on-par with Ethan Alan & Drexel Heritage but much, much better quality. The only thing is it's hard to get a visual since he doesn't have a floor sample for everything he can make- some of his stuff looks dated but it updates really well changing the face plates, moldings, etc. The good thing is that the furniture is guaranteed for the entire time you own the product. What a lot of people do is look @ Ethan Allen, take pictures, and then my dad quotes it out (or bring catalog pictures).
If you are looking for something quality for the next 5 years, but not something you want forever, I find Gothic Cabinet Craft to be great.

The Place is great , we went to the one in Carle Place, but there is one on Rt. 110 as well - we bought our leather living room set there, it was delivered quickly and we love it. Siegermans on 110 is nice too, although we did not buy from them. I also love Drexel Heritage (Westbury or Farmingdale). Good Luck!!

Re: Furniture - any recomendations??
Does anyone know if 'The Place' has a website, or what their address is in either CP or on 110? It sounds like they are a good one to check out.

Re: Furniture - any recomendations??
what type of dining room furniture are you looking for?? We wanted solid oak. We went to Nostalgia Oak, and LOVED our set. We got a really good deal. They are located off Rt. 110.

Re: Furniture - any recomendations??
The Place I don't know the exact address on 110 in Farmingdale, but it's about 5 minutes before you hit the Cinema and before Estelles. In CP, it's on Glen Cove Rd. just North of Old Country, in the shopping center next to DOMAIM.
I bought a living room set there and I really liked it. We were there over the weekend. They have a huge selection, but I didn't see anything that I was too crazy about. I like their living room selections better than their bedrooms.

Re: Furniture - any recomendations??
Does Nostalgia Oak carry black oak furniture? We're inheriting a dining room set from DH's parents. It's black oak. I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a china cabinet or a hutch to match.
we got our couch from Macy furniture on glen cove road...the price was good and its payment free and interest free for 6 months on your macy's card...
our puppy has torn up one side...but I don't think that is Macy's fault...just our pup...
one thing that did happen was that we got a sectional...we said that we wanted to get the chase on the left side...and she ordered it on the right...when I questioned it she told us you have to look at sides like you are standing in back of the sofa?? well when it was delivered...it was wrong...
but I don't really blame macy's
